Magical Moments

The day before my wedding it was pouring with rain, the morning of the wedding the rain stopped and the skys started to clear. Although it was freezing cold the sun peaked out of the clouds just before the ceremony. One of my highlights was that I managed to send through a voice note to 5fm radio with a message for my husband to be. He heard it while getting ready ❤. My special day ran without any hiccups along the way, it was such a perfect day. Emotions ran high that day not only with the wedding party but with the guest as well, everyone felt the genuine raw emotion of the Day and that was one of my most memorable moment. I also had a message printed on a Hessian carpet for my dad to see when he walked me down the aisle , it read "Dad of all the walks we have ever taken this is the one I'll remember forever, Bianca xxx" when I saw his reaction it was worth the tears especially when he rolled it up and carried it over his shoulder to the car to take it home.

The Honeymoon

We booked the honeymoon suite at Bushman's Nek in Drakensberg. We stayed over for 4 night's. During our stay we went for delicious dinners, horse rides, bicycle rides to the Lesotho border and waterfall, drives around Underberg, where we went to a few coffee shops, the Underberg Cheesery and Phuckety Farm. We had couples massage, enjoyed cocktails around a bonfire, played some putt putt and relaxed in the Jacuzzi bath. It was a very short and sweet honeymoon that we loved.

My Special Day

I choose a Whimsical wedding look, with an elegant low textured up do entwined with a floral beaded hair piece (done by the talented Tarae who owns Make my Day hair and makeup), I choose a bold warm golden smokey eye with nude lips and my breath taking strapless floral wedding dress completed my look (Dress from Bride and Co). My dress is a very unique one of a kind wedding dress, the colour of my dress is cream with a floral design of hand embroidered stitching and beading, the flowers are pink, yellow, purple and green. I wore baby pink block heels and used my Bridesmaids veil (as my something borrowed). I choose to wear a baby pink silk strapless bra and panty set along with white stockings. My Maid of Honor handmade my garters. I wore a silver necklace with a blue stone pendant given to me by my dad 3 days before my wedding as a birthday gift ( this doubled as my something new / something blue). I wore a silver ring with a pink stone given to me many years ago from my grandmother and a silver infinity bracelet that my bridesmaid had worn on her wedding day

The Venue

We got married in Hillcrest at a beautiful venue called Macnut Farm Wedding Venue Owned by a wonderful couple ( Hannah and Paul). We stayed over in the honeymoon suite. The venue offered accommodation for 6 people and the rest of my guests found accommodation around the area.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I started my weight loss journey 6 months before my wedding, I lost 12kgs and reached my goal weight 3 days before my wedding. I followed a low carb/high protein diet along with moderate exercise. I purchased my wedding dress 9 months before and my dress was 3 sizes too small for me, I finally fitted into the dress perfectly a month and a half before the Big Day but in the end a week before the wedding I had to get my dress taken in as it was too big for me. I went to my local salon every 2/3 weeks for foot treatments and waxes, I got my lashes and nails done 3 days before the wedding on my birthday by Taryn who owns At Your Fingertips. I got blond highlights put in my hair a week before.

Wedding Elements

To keep with the Whimsical look I went with lots of flower arrangements and greenery in regards to my decor. My wonderful wedding co-ordinator Hannah set up the decor and did all the flower arrangements. The flower arrangements and bouquets consisted of Gerbera (my favourite flower), pennygum, rock roses and succulents. The centre piece consisted of Hessian overlay, wooden disc, big silver lanterns and candles and the flower arrangement along with wooden table numbers done in cursive . We had our table numbers made using the Craft and hobby store near our home. We choose to use round tables and tiffany chairs. The outside entrance was set up with haystacks and vintage looking decor. We printed out our table setting on a mirror using gold font, we also had a Welcome sign done on a glass window pane that read " Welcome Matthew and Bianca happily ever Kendal 18/08/18" (Rovert signs and designs made all our signage)

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The Groom and Groomsmen hired their suits from Suit up. They all wore different shades of grey. Their suits consisted of a long button up shirt, waist coat and blazer. Each Groomsmen had a tie and pocket hanky that matched their bridesmaid partners dress. My husband decided to use a grey bowtie and he looked so handsome in his Cristiano Ronaldo slim for long sleeve shirt.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

I had 4 bridesmaid and each bridesmaid had a different style dress. I just loved the mix matched look. They all wore long dresses but we decided to go with different shades of mint greens and pinks to match the floral design on my wedding dress. Each dress suited my bridesmaids own unique style. My flower girl wore a beautiful cream ball gown with a yellow ribbon that was knee length with a long white sleeve shirt underneath and knee high lace socks. Each bridesmaid had a curled downstyle but each style was different. We got all 5 dresses from the China mall for half the price that other wedding shops were selling their dresses for.

My Captured Moments

We were very fortunate to be able to work with the talented Stuart Dods and his assistant Mark Maxwell. He made our day so easy by allowing us to focus on the events and formalities and capture the moments that showed our true happiness and love. Stuart and Mark were so awesome to work with and had us in stitches all day long. We hired a photobooth for 2hours to keep the guests entertained while we went off for our creative shoot. The photobooth was such a huge success with the guests and kiddies who all had so much fun.

The Wedding Planner

Hannah who owns Macnut Farm was our wedding co-ordinator. From table settings to decor to the most amazing food in the world, this super hero did it all and it was PERFECT!!!!!!

Food & Cake

Amanda Du Toit from Cherry Blossom made my beautiful 3 tier wedding cake. I went for a naked cake look. Each tier was a different flavour. The top was vanilla with strawberry flavour icing, the middle was red velvet with lemon meringue flavor icing and the bottom was chocolate with cappachino flavour icing. There was a Hessian ribbon around each tier and it was decorated with the same flowers as used in my decor. My cake topper was made by the craft and hobby store it was a wooden sign that read Mr and Mrs Kendal.

Wedding Stationery

I designed and made all the stationary.

The Reception and Entertainment

My husband and I made up our own dance 2 weeks before our wedding and practiced every night when our toddler was asleep. We choose Just say you won't let go by James Arthur as our first dance song. Our talented Dj Riaan Brits who owns Dj Extreme made our day so memorable by being such and amazing Dj. The reception was such a jol with the guests dancing all night long. The kiddies showed off all their dance moves and it definitely was a night to remember❤❤
