Magical Moments

When I woke up the morning of the wedding my mother came to me, said no words and just held me with tears in her eyes. It was emotional as I was leaving my parents home to start my next chapter in life. When walking down the isle, the expression on my husbands face was priceless. He tried to control his tears and at the same time share his joy. OH, the excitement was something I cannot completely express.

A real highlight was having my father marry my husband and I. I see this as the biggest privilege as not many people are able to have such an opportunity.

I did a surprise Indian dance for my husband and he also did a surprise dance for me which even lead to him dancing underneath my dress to remove the garter.

The Honeymoon

We went on honeymoon to a few local places in the Western Cape. We stayed at a lodge in Grootbrak (garden route), then travelled to Harold's bay and stayed there for two nights. We travelled to George and Mosselbay and also stayed over. We had such an amazing time touring the Western Cape.

My Special Day

My wedding dress was a two in one. I always wanted a fairytale wedding so my dress for the ceremony was a beautiful ball gown with a trail approximately 3 meters and my veil was 7meteres long. At the reception I changed into something tight and sexy as this type of dress is what my husband always envisioned me in. He was truly blown away.

My make-up and hair was done by Blush hair make-up and hair services. I went for a natural look for my make-up and a stunning modern upstyle as I needed to show off the elegance of my dress.

My shoes matched the colour theme of the wedding which was aqua.
On the day of the wedding my husband suprised me with a beautiful set of earrings and a stunning tennis bracelet which was given to me by my maid of honor during my preparation time.

The Venue

We got married at Eensgezind function venue in Cape Town. Fortunately it was close enough for our guests to travel home, however many guests decided to stay over at Kolping guest house in Durbanville.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

The bridesmaids had beautiful aqua dresses that was make by a dressmaker residing in Cape Town.

Marriage Officer

Reverend R Pillay from the church of the Nazarene was our marriage office. My oh my what a huge privilege I had of having my father (Rev. R Pillay) marry me.

My Captured Moments

We used studio 69 filming and photography. What an amazing company. They captured every moment along with giving us (the couple) some time to embrace this big occasion. Studio 69 was so easy going and creative. We didn't feel under any pressure to capture our special moments. I highly recommend studio 69.

The Wedding Planner

I had the best planner one could ask for. Ananda works at Eensgezind function venue and she made sure my day was perfect. She went the extra mile to ensure that the day was exactly how I wanted it to be.

Wedding Transport

I arrived in a stunning white Hummer along with my parents and flower girl. The bridesmaids traveled in the latest C-class Mercedes Benz.

Food & Cake

The wedding cake was made by Limnos. Each guest got a personalized mini cake in a box with a spoon attached to it. This was told to be something very unique as guests could enjoy the cake at home or at the venue along with a variety of 5 desserts to choose from.

The venue prepared all the food (starters, main meal, dessert, cake and tea) which was absolutely Devine. There was such a variety of food and desserts, it was a buffet so guests could enjoy a Devine meal with the newly weds.

Wedding Stationery

The stationary and invites were all hand made by my mom and I.

The Reception and Entertainment

The reception was absolutely beautiful. There were fairy lights all around and we had a saxophone player who entertained all our guests as well as a DJ later the evening to help get the party started. All our guests enjoyed themselves dancing and singing along to tunes that they requested before the big day. We asked each guest to send us their song requests to ensure that each person enjoys the genre of music being played.

My husband and I didn't have the opportunity to practice our first dance but we definitely did an awesome job dancing the night away.
