The Honeymoon

Our Honeymoon was absolutely astonishing. We went to the Western Cape Franschhoek.
I just loved the atmosphere, even though it was freezing!

Our accommodation were at Allee Blue Wine estate which we won a week before our wedding day and discovered the miraculous adventures of the Cape.

Captains Peak was my favourite of them all. Because I'm a Photographer and owner of Bliss Photography South Africa. I just love the essence of this beautiful mountains !!! I captured a lot of memories...

We had so much fun in Franschhoek... We went all over the place. This long journey of this old place was fascinating ...

Bochendal Wine Estate was also a spectacular adventure with all it's Featured Wines and the Restuarant was absolutely a dream come true with specialty dishes served...

As people say LOVE, FOOD and WINE what else do you need ???!!!

My Special Day

Our wedding was a dream come true !!! A princess story on its own...

My look was more a rustic, vintage look and also very natural on the eye. My hair and makeup were done by Sole Salon and Spa...

Parfume
I used the perfume Versace a wonderful sent. Just details of how it smells: She has a presence. She walks with her head held high, and she has that certain smile. She has an innate ability to always be sexy and confident. She has a sure sense of fashion and elegance, and she loves the lavishness, eccentricity and glamour of haute couture spirit. She's a Versace woman. She wants a sumptuous fragrance, the olfactory equivalent of a long train on a fabulous wedding dress.

My Wedding Dress
The designer was Diaan Daniels Couture.
I send an idea of the top part the lace and also an Idea of what I wanted for the bottom part. He was so helpful and on point with what I wanted.

The Venue

We had our astonishing day held at The Farmer's Daughter Howick.

Midlands area where nature is the most beautiful creation!

Everyone was everywhere... My family stayed at The Knoll Guesthouse outside of Hilton... The Knoll was for me an absolute treat we had the privilege to see the beautiful freshen horses and it reminded me of the times I had spend with my family on our farm with horses around us ... and how I grow up with this magnificent animal...

The night of our wedding we spend at The Barn in Hilton ... I just loved the atmosphere and essance of love in the Spacious room .... The owners were very welcoming. I would really recommend this place to people ...

The Farmer's Daughter

The Farmer's Daughter

In the little town of Dargle in the midst of the Natal midlands, lies a catering company passionate in delivering all that is baked and cooked from the freshest produce possible.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

Solé Salon and Spa was the best place to do all of our beauty treatments....

I had my Makeup and Hair trial done. I spoiled my mother with a full day of pampering. I have to say the Salon where so excited to spend the most memorable day of my life with us...

The service they gave us was spectacular:
Full body massages
A facial a week before
Manicure and Pedicures
Also waxing etc.

I followed a slim 28 day diet.... for 3months and lost 6kg .... 23cm in total !!!

Wedding Elements

I really wanted to give a atmosphere of vintage, rustic and homely feeling....

We had the whole Venue of the Farmer's Daughter for ourselves and we used all of the decor in the restaurant.

We had our wedding outside with vintage lounges and also hey bales for the ceremony.... we gave our guests kids a happy go lucky packet with chalk and they could go wild on black boards, they had mini jelly sweet bites and then also bubbles...

The venue is child friendly and they enjoyed it so much.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

My Husbands Suite
The suite was POLO made. He bought it in Ballito in a POLO branch.
White POLO button shirt.
A beautiful POLO Blazer...

His Shoes
He also bought it at POLO.

His Jewellery
A Fossil Watch as a gift from me...

Beautiful Bridesmaids

Soooo!!! I didn't have Bridesmaids like I said it wasn't a traditional wedding. We asked ourselves the question of why should we have bridesmaids and bridesmen if we are each other's favourite and best friends...

We wanted to stand side by side with the feeling of we belong as one and not as four or five next to each other...

My Captured Moments

We had Maddison Photography capturing our beautiful day full of excitement and craziness. The photographers were absolutely amazing their a Husband and Wife who works together as a team and I just love the way they make you feel in front of the Camera...

It wasn't easy to choose a photographer because I'm also a Photographer and owner of a Photography business Bliss Photography. I wanted the style of vintage emotion. My favourite photographs are the emotion on everyone's faces when the bride walks in and the face of the Groom.

I have done my research on the Photographers based in Pietermaritzburg and so I found them on Facebook and Voilà...

The Photographer's story...
Smith Wedding

15 and 16 June, 2018

Bianca and Edward’s family traveled from far and wide to witness the Smiths tie the knot at The Farmer’s Daughter in Howick.

This wedding was special and one of the coolest and most unique weddings we have ever shot.

Edward and Biance fully embraced the theme of ‘nie tradisionele nie’ – A fully non-traditional wedding! The celebrations started the night before with a casual gathering of all guests to share a dinner over live music, while the actual actual ceremony took place the following morning.

The usual traditions of formal table settings, throwing of the bouquet/garter, vows and a dance floor, were rather replaced with intimate time with family and friends and a very meaningful ceremony lead by Edward’s Dad, overlooking the Umgeni Valley.

The guests relaxed in restaurant afterwards, enjoyed a refreshing gin bar and were served meals throughout the day.

We finished off our day with creative shoot in a location just outside of Howick. All the best for the future and congrats on your marriage!

The Wedding Planner

I could say we had in a way a Coordinator... The Farmer's Daughter catered for us. They planned from the wedding venue to the last blossom in my bouquet...

I absolutely enjoyed the love we got from every staff member. They were so helpful in every aspect and for that I was grateful!!!

Wedding Transport

We had the privilege to ride in a Wooden Car called Houtjie it means in English Woody.

The car was made in 2005 and was given as a trade in car to my Father Francois Hattingh. This car is the only wooden car in South Africa Made and is established in Pietermaritzburg, Kwazulu-Natal.

We just loved this car, because of it's uniqueness and rareness. It also fitted with the theme The Farmer's Daughter Rustic and Vintage.

Food & Cake

Our lovely Services of FOOD was homemade by the restaurant itself The Farmer's Daughter in Howick, Kwazulu-Natal.

We had wonderful reviews from our guests...

The food was absolutely the best The service was the best!!!
We had food for Africa and I have to say DELICIOUS...

Our wedding Cake was also Made through Farmer's Daughters... One of the Daughters Joe...

Wedding Stationery

We haven't had anyone helping with the stationary I work full-time at a Library... I found our wedding ring holder in a shelve and just felt the presence of God in that BIBLE ... I used for the guest book an Atlas of the world Published in 1960... The Guest loved it a lot...

My sister in law helped us with the design of the save the dates and we send it via Email... and also our invitations were via Email...

The Reception and Entertainment

Our wedding music the Friday evening was the sound of an acoustic Band located in Ballito, KwaZulu- Natal. They were fascinating full of talent. The music was so smooth and we could hear every piece of equipment ...

We had for the wedding the Saturday a Piano man who played for us some old classic songs on the piano. Our ceremony song was A Thousand Years by Christina Perri ... Piano Cover!

We also didn't have a traditional wedding the only time we danced was when I Surprised my Husband with a cover song I recorded for him in the Studio. I wish that moment could have lasted a lifetime. Singing Stand by me in my own version and telling him how I feel about him was the most adored feeling of all !!!
