Magical Moments

The highlight was definitely listening to my husband’s personal vows to me. He was never the romantic type, yet when he said his vows to me....WOW, my heart leaped with love and laughter at how well he really knew me!

To add to this amazing memory, Sebastian our marriage officer planned our wedding ceremony around the Liverpool FC anthem: “You’ll Never Walk Alone” since Sash and I are die hard Liverpool supporters! This was so beautiful and unique because Sash also proposed to me in the Anfield Stadium, Liverpool (on the Kop).

Our fellow LFC supporters can relate to the epicness of such a moment!

The Honeymoon

We kept it simple for the honeymoon... we spent a few days at the Wild Coast Sun, just relaxing and enjoying that newly wed feeling together. It was wonderful and I cherish every bit of it!

My Special Day

Our wedding was an east meets west theme with an ocean view. My husband is tamil and I’m christian and it was a beautiful ceremony celebrating love and the coming together of two families which are now one.

My dress was an ivory lace mermaid styled dress with red bead work and red accessories.

I kept the make up elegant yet simple. I wanted him to still recognise me lol. My hair was curled up to one side and complimented by a red rose.

I later changed into a navy and gold lengha outfit to compliment the east meets west theme.

The Venue

We got married at the African Peninsula on the Bluff over looking the ocean.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I basically decided to eat healthy for once despite my immense love for good food! Lol.

I gymed 3 times a week and drank water only.

All chips, chocolates, sweets, white rice, bread, fizzy drinks and sugar stopped. My advice is that eating healthy is the best detox!

I didnt really do many facials out of fear of a break out but I did use facial masks at home and waxed every part of my body.... shew that was painful, lol!!!! No pain no gain!

Wedding Elements

My colour scheme was gold, ivory and baby pink. I had ivory tablecloths on round tables with delicate detailing. My centerpieces comprised of off white lillies and red and pink roses in a clear crystal urn. These were complimented by clear crystal tiffany chairs and gold and clear crystal underplates.

I had a wedding arch overlooking the ocean with flowers and baby pink organza draped around it.

I followed one rule: Less is more

My Groom And His Groomsmen

Well, Sash designed his own suit which was grey with silver and gold embroidery detail... I must say, he looked mighty fine!

Marriage Officer

Sebastian Pillay, who was not only our marriage officer but an extremely good family friend that knew Sash and I from the time we started dating.

My Captured Moments

Oh, we had thee best photography team. Lorenzo Pillay from Enzophotography captured our special day with magic and flair!

Enzo is also a very good friend of ours which made the memories even more special!

The Wedding Planner

Sash and I planned the wedding (with me doing the actual planning and him taking on a supervisory role as usual, lol)... we did however have a lot of assistance from the venue coordinator, Nadine... She was an absolute star⭐️

Wedding Transport

Since I got to the venue first to get dressed and take some photos, I didn’t really enter in a wedding car... however I did have a red and black Mustang assigned to me for the rest of the afternoon.

Sash had his dream wedding car in the form of a white Porsche 911 Turbo!

Food & Cake

The meals were prepared by the venue, ranging from prawn and chicken livers starters to prawn and butter chicken mains....

The wedding cake was a gift from one of my friends which was a chocolate cake (Sash’s and my favorite flavor) decorated in an ivory shimmer with a gold ‘S&A’ cake topper together with a baby pink hand made edible flower.

Wedding Stationery

One of our close friends is a graphic designer, Christine Padayachee from Blue Apple Printers, arranged all our designs and prints for our special day!

The Reception and Entertainment

The reception was fun, fun and more fun! Our friends arranged the DJ as a gift to us and we also had a live singer to add some spunk to the afternoon.

When it comes to music and dancing, Sash and I are polar opposites. We literally practiced in one session two days before our wedding!

I also added a surprise mix to our wedding song which went off pretty well especially since it was completely improvised!
