Wow where to begin? 1. The moment I saw my husband waiting for me at the end of the isle. That sparkle in his eyes and that proud smile. He looked so handsome. 2. That moment my dad gave me away to my (future) husband infront of all our 60 closest friends and family. It truly was an out of body experience. A true fairytale moment. 3. Finally hearing we are husband and wife after waiting more than 5 years for it to become a reality.
Yes, the day after the wedding we went to Crystal Springs in Mpumalanga. The place closest to our hearts. The most special place on earth for both of us. But we didn't care that it wasn't Paris or the Maldives, as long as we were together. It truly was heaven on earth and we call it our second home.
The best I can describe my wedding look was less is more. My hair was half up - curly (no extensions) grew my hair for two years. My makeup was simple, but to drew attention to my eyes. My wedding dress was everything I hoped it would be and more. Hugged me in all the right places and I felt so comfortable. A line dress with a little lace, bling and ruffles. Shoes was white flats I bought at Woolworths. Only jewellery was diamond earrings I had for years, but loved and knew I wanted to wear it on my wedding day (my something old). My diamond armband was my (something borrowed) from my sister in law and Maid of honor.

We got married at Heaven's gate wedding and function venue in Boksburg, Gauteng. A true fairytale wedding venue.
I did not really have a beauty regime, as we were engaged for more than 5 years I began losing weight in 2014/2015 and on our wedding day I lost a total of 30 kg's since 2014... In the 3 months leading up to our wedding I lost 10 kg's. I ate healthier and drank a ton of water to get my skin in better condition. It really paid off. That was the only things I did.
Our color scheme was silver, grey, white and a touch of navy. (Winter Wonderland) as my surname was changing to Winter. Our flowers was mostly white. Everything was perfect.
They found their suits at Eurosuit. I still can't get over how handsome my husband looked in his navy suit. Wow!
As I only had one bridesmaid... my sister in law she was my bridesmaid, maid of honor (all in one). She lives in New Zealand, so she bought a navy dress at a local clothing store there and brought it with. She looked beautiful.
Robert and Zeda. Onesto studios. They were so wonderful and professional. They honestly took the most beautiful photos that we will cherish forever. I will recommend them to anyone anytime.
As there was no room at the venue to get ready, my (all in one) and I stayed at the Birchwood Hotel the night before the wedding. My mom and dad came to pick us up at the hotel as it is only 5km's away from the venue. We went in my mom's Daihatsu Terios. I didn't mind because the parking at the venue and where everyone was waiting on me and my dad was covered with a lot of trees, so I didn't need a wedding car or anything fancy.
Sven the Head Chef at Heavens gate made the best food ever. All our guests can't stop talking about the great food. It was so delicious. Andiccio24 (I know it is actually a pizza place) but we had 60 cupcakes made as our wedding cake. We thought it was more practical and we fell in love with the blue velvet cupcake when we randomly bought it one day more than two years ago. We knew there and then that is our future wedding cake.
The invites I made myself and I bought our guest book at a local store for next to nothing. Plain and simple but worked out perfectly.
It was so much fun. The dance floor was full the entire evening. Everyone had the best time. We did not practice once for our first dance. I know..... but it was kind of perfect anyway. Our DJ Hendrik was provided to us through Heaven's gate. He was excellent.
