Magical Moments

The 5th of May 2018 is a day that we will never forget.

I could not wait to marry my best friend so the biggest highlight of our day was just saying "I do!". We organized the entire wedding ourselves along with our families to ensure that everything from start to finish reflected who we are as a couple and our individual style.

The whole day from start to finish was memorable and beautiful! I can't pick a favorite moment, it was all absolutely perfect.

It is the greatest joy to finally be married to my favorite person!

The Honeymoon

Yes! We honeymooned in one of our most favorite destinations, the Drakensberg!

My Special Day

My wedding look could best be described as simple and elegant. I went for a more natural make-up look done by a very good friend of mine, Kirstie Louw. My hair was done by Sarah from Hair by Hawthorne, I had a beautiful up style with curls hanging in all the right places, and some baby's breath of course!

My wedding dress was a stunning and playful a-line court train tulle and lace dress, ivory in color from Cocomelody in Durban North.

With regards to my wedding shoes, lingerie and jewellery I shopped local brands and kept it simple!

The Venue

We got married at the most amazing venue just outside of Pietermaritzberg, The Secret Garden.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

My bridal beauty regime leading up to the wedding consisted of a body weight training program for each day of the week which I did from home, I used cetaphil products for my skin care, and I didn't use any special teeth whitening or spa treatments, I kept everything super simple!

Wedding Elements

Our decor was simple, natural and elegant. Our main flowers were baby's breath and white roses, we used loads of pennygum as well! Our amazing venue provided all furniture and we hired some of our decor from Desire2Hire as well as EbyA the rest of the decor was made and provided by us.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom wore a navy blue suit with a baby pink tie and brown leather shoes all purchased from Edgars and the groomsmen wore navy blue suit pants with a long sleeve white collared shirt and navy blue bow ties with brown leather shoes, all purchased from Edgars.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids wore three-quarter length dusty gold pleated dresses with spaghetti straps and open style velvet material shoes which we purchased from Woolworths!

Marriage Officer

Our marriage officer was the amazing Crystal Head from His Church Pinetown.

My Captured Moments

We were blessed enough to have Stephen Pilbrough from Stephen Pilbrough Photography capture our special day, and he far exceeded all of our expectations!

The Wedding Planner

We did not hire a wedding planner, we did everything ourselves along with the help of our family and friends. We wanted to be involved in every single part of our wedding planning and wanted to make sure that our wedding reflected who we are and our styles.

Wedding Transport

For our wedding transport we used my grandfathers Mercedes, which was so special and memorable for me.

Food & Cake

Once again our brilliant venue outdid themselves! They provided all the food and it was absolutely phenomenal! Seconds and even thirds were had!

Our wedding cake was made by a local family friend of ours who is an amazing baker!

Wedding Stationery

Yet another area where were so blessed! My husband is a graphic designer/web developer so all stationery and all prints were done entirely by him!

The Reception and Entertainment

Our wedding reception was such fun! We had taken dance lessons with a local dance instructor (Minnette Nieman) who did a great job in prepping us for our first dance. We used DJ Worx who organizing all sound and lighting as well! We also had live music during the ceremony and during the canapes, which was done by the very talented Open Air Band.
