The 20th of April 2018 is the most memorable and special day of my life.
The day started of with me waking up early trying to have breakfast but the excitement was to much that breakfast was the last thing I wanted. After all that we went to the venue to finish the last few things. It was so special to see everyone lending a hand to get everything done so we all can go to get ready for the special event.
From there Bianca du Preez started with our hair and make-up. She did a wonderful job we all looked amazing.
And then it was time to get into the most amazing dress i have ever seen or got to wear. It was so special that my mom and sister helped me to get dressed. We had so much fun. We just couldn't stop the tears.
My husband gave me such a beautiful wedding gift. Pearl necklace and earings and a pearl and diamond headpiece. He is the most amazing man with such a good heart and he makes me laugh so much.
The wedding and the venue was just perfect we couldn't ask for better. It was so special walking down the isle with my mom and dad on the most beautiful song A thousand years (part 2). The moment that I will never forget is the moment I saw the man of my dreams standing there looking so handsome. There were a lot of tears but it was tears of happiness.
The service was just amazing everyone still keeps talking about the service and the message Rinus Wasserman from NG Wierdaprk Suid gave. We started with the vows and rings and then that first magical kiss as husband and wife. It was so special when we our parents joined us in front for the final prayer.
From there we went to sign the register had a few special moments with our parents. Taking some photos and then all the fun began.
The toasts and speeches was breathtaking and our MC was amazing and he is also a great friend and mentor in both our lifes. Thank you Johan Broodryk for handling everything the way you did.
The first dance as husband and wife was so magical we chose a song by Bobby van Jaarsvel My Alles it is just such a amazing song that speaks love.
When my dad and I danced the father and daughter dance on Simply the best by Tina Turner I remember my dad asking why such a lengthy song.
I wouldn't change a thing we had the perfect wedding.
We went to Club Mykonos in Langebaan our own little piece of Greece. it was so nice waking up to the sound of waves breaking in front of our Kaliva. we went dining at two of the most greatest restaurants there. One night at Boesmanland Kombuis we had a Buffet and it was amazing food we ate to much. One of the locals came with his guitar and sang us a few songs. The other night we went to a restaurant called Bouzuki for a Greek night what a night we just didn't break our plates but plates went flying that night. We even danced over the broken plates. It was definitely a time we both will remember for always. This was the best holiday ever.
I wanted something that will suit my style I like natural things so I incorporated that into my look.
My hair and make-up was done by Bianca du Preez (071 449 7831). She did some curls but not to much, the headpiece was a wedding gift from my fiance it suited my style perfectly.
Me wedding dress was bought at Bride & Co in Bloemfontein and all the alterations was done at Bride & Co at Brooklyn Mall Pretoria. My dress was an a-line ballgown with some sequence and just enough detail that was the first dress I tried on and I immediately fell in love with that stunning dress. I also decided on wearing a petticoat so that moving around in the dress would be easier. I chose a long Cathedral veil with the same kind of detail as my dress it just complemented my whole look.
My shoes I bought my shoes at PnP Clothing I went for a pump because I don't like heels the shoes had a lace effect that worked perfectly with my dress I just wanted to add something to the shoes so I put putted on some diamond sequence.
My jewels was a wedding gift from my amazing husband. Silver necklace with a pearl pendant and pearl earings.
We got married at The Forest Walk Venue in Midrand. It was the first and last venue we visited we immediately decided that is the place we want to use for our forever story. The team was amazing and the food to die for. We would recommend this venue to every couple who want to get married. Some of our guests did stay the night. Some at Donnybrook Guesthouse in Midrand, some at the Orchards Midrand as well as me and my husband.
Located centrally between Johannesburg and Pretoria in the heart of Glen Austin, lies this unique venue surrounded by beautiful forest surroundings and big gardens for your gue...
I tried to eat healthier sometimes i struggled but at the end it was worth it. I exercised at home went walking often. For my skin I used masks one every week mostly hydration masks. I drank a lot of water for the last year. A very special friend gave us a spa voucher before the wedding at Spa de la Veile my soon to be husband and me went to the spa a week before our wedding, oh and what a treat that was we both enjoyed it so much the stress was gone for that day we could just relaxed and focus on each other. We went to the dentist for teeth whitening.
I did most of the decor myself, because I like doing stuff like that and I knew it will save us a lot of money if I do this. I collected Doug Egberts coffee bottles painting them in our five colors, oh and it came out perfect. For the flowers i asked my one aunt to make me paper roses in my five colors. But I still wanted fresh flowers as well and went for Gyp and desert roses the Gyp I got from the flower market Mall@Reds she also did my altar arrangement which was leaves other flowers and proteas. I also got my confetti from her. The dessert roses came from my garden I just love dessert roses.
My mom helped me to make the serviette rings we used hessian and ribbon in our wedding colors.
We made the confetti cones ourselves using white doilies and purple ribbon.
Believe me it is hard work doing everything yourself and there is days you just wish you didn't but at the end of the day it is all worth it.
They both had dark grey suits that was bought at Awerbuchs in Bloemfontein. The ties were made by Maxi from Dynamic weddings they bought their shoes at different shops but it all went great together and my husband looked so handsome and sexy that day.
I decided on infinity dresses for them because they both like different styles and this is one dress you can wear many different ways. It was short in front and long at the back. Their shoes was bought at PnP Clothing. Their Jewelry I bought at Avon. Their make-up and hair was also done by Bianca du Preez.
Rinus Wasserman from NG Kerk Wierdapark Suid. He did a perfect job everyone keeps on talking about his message and how great he was.
Rene Massyn and Mareli. They were totally amazing we couldn't ask for a better team to capture our special day.
We had so much fun on the engagement shoot and the pre-wedding and wedding photos. They made this day special with all the unique photo's they took and all the help before the wedding with ideas and could ask them anything and they would help. They are very passionate about their work and they made us all happy.
I would recommend them to anyone looking for a photographer their prices and packages are affordable and you get real value for your money. (Rene 083 526 4571) (Mareli 082 632 2637)
No I did everything myself and had a lot of help from family and friends.
But the venue did have a coordinator that helped a lot we could asked her anything and she was always ready with tips and advice.
The food was prepared by the venue we had a spitbraai and the food was just amazing. While we had our photos done there were candyfloss in our wedding colors and something to drink for our guests.
My aunt made the cake we decided on a round vanilla cake and vanilla cupcakes with lemon meringue filling inside. it was just amazing the taste of the cake.

The invites was done by the Wedding Warehouse in Pretoria.
The little newspaper i designed using the site called canva and that was a lot of fun. Everyone was amazed by it.
We did a soundtrack with all the songs from our wedding day I designed the label on Canva and my friend (bridesmaid) helped me to stick all the labels on the sleeves.
The party was great I enjoyed it I danced most of the night when I was not chatting with our guests. We didn't go for dance lessons we just practice our opening dance at our home. The DJ was amazing we loved the music he played that night he played something for everyone. (DJ Roolie Vorster BLD Events 079 034 1709) He also did the lighting.
