I will never forget the look on my husbands face when he saw me, nor will I forget everyone else faces when we entered as “Mnr & Mev Olivier”. One of my best friends was unable to attend our wedding and I would have to say that being able to whatsapp video call her was one of the best moments of my wedding day. I thoroughly enjoyed my husbands speech which was probably the sweetest speech I have ever heard.
We went to Mossel Bay, to be more specific - Klein Brak in Cape Town. Our honeymoon was actually our very first holiday where it was just us two believe it or not...
Originally I didn’t want to wear a princess, fairytale type of dress but my mom insisted I try one on and the moment I saw myself in the mirror at Trés Jolie Bridal & Evening Wear I knew it was my dress! My hair was done by Krisnique, my hair dresser since I was in diapers... the look I decided on I saw two years before I even got engaged. My make-up was done by a family friend very close to my heart. I had the opportunity to borrow my mom’s necklace which meant the world to me.
My shoes are from Kingsmead (Menlyn Retail Park), I decided not to go for the traditional shiny/ white wedding shoe, but rather a burgandy wedge to give myself a splash of colour...
We got married at Grace Falls Wedding & Function Venue, some of our guests slept over at the venue and some slept over at another venue a few 100m away from the venue.
Honestly, I did nothing like teeth whitening, spa treatments, diets etc... I just got married as I am.
My flowers were done by the florist in Mall @ Reds, they were absolutely beautiful.. My mother, two of her friends and I basically did the décor ourselves. The music and lighting was done by Xtreme Sounds.
My husband wore a black suit from Blacktie, and his groomsman and our ring bearer wore black suits from Eurosuit. The reason why we went to two separate places was that we wanted something different for my husband.
My bridesmaids could each choose a style of dress they wanted to wear, we then got them made by Presley, a man who used to work at a laundromat who was given a break by my moms friend to start working on his passion...

Chantelle Loots Photography was able to capture all our magical, memorable moments. Unfortunatley we did not have a photobooth or a videographer.
My mom and I planned everything ourselves
I was fortunate enough to have my gran bake us our wedding cake and the venue prepared the food served at our wedding. So far our wedding food has been voted under the top 3 out of all our friends.
My collegues designed our wedding stationery and I am fortunate to work at a company who I could use to print the neccesary items.
We didn’t take any official dance lessons, however our close friends taught us a few moves... We had Xtreme Sounds - a DJ that works with Grace Falls Wedding & Function Venue do our music and lighting.
