The highlight of my day was definitely when we said our vows. I didn't expect to feel as overwhelmed with emotion as I was.
The next highlight would be when my cousin sang James Arthur's "Say you won't let go" at the reception. Another moment of complete overwhelming emotion. I absolutely love that song and it is such a beautiful memory for me looking back at our wedding day.
We had a Breakfast for our reception and it was in the Church's garden, where we had gotten married. The weather was perfect, the decor was beautiful. Round tables with umbrella's shielding our guests from the sun, white table cloths, centre pieces provided by our caterer. A slush puppy machine which it seems our guests enjoyed very much. It was more than I imagined.
My bridesmaids chose their own style of dresses. They both wore long, rose-gold dresses with the top of their dresses slightly different to each others. They really looked beautiful.
Kelly (Kelly SmallOne Photography) did an amazing job capturing our wedding day. We were at school together and it was really great having someone that I know capturing our day, it felt very personal and as a couple we felt very comfortable having Kelly there.
I didn't have a planner, my husband and I did a lot of the planning ourselves. However, our caterer did the decor and the food and brought a lot of her own props which dealt with a huge chunk of the planning.
We had an awesome caterer, named Des. She created a beautiful buffet with lots of eggs, bacon, sausage and then a savoury section of muffins, croissants and a sweet section of desserts.
My colleague's aunt made us a beautiful rose gold cake, which fit in with our theme. An hour before I was meant to collect the cake she called to say her husband was in a car accident. I was completely shocked but if I had to be without a cake then so be it. Fortunately her husband is well and I got my cake :)
I created my own wedding stationery: from invitations to programmes. It was fun to do...and slightly stressful at times ;)
My aunt brought our table settings over from the UK and I got cute wooden props such as an instagram frame, wooden keyrings with our names on and a wooden guestbook from Little Woodpecker.
