The whole day from start to end was like a fairytale. I will cherish every moment forever, but these two definitely stood out:
Waking up the morning of my wedding day surrounded by my 4 best friends and knowing that the day has come that I get to marry my person. What a feeling!
Walking down the aisle with my dad on my right arm (a moment I had envisioned my whole life) towards my soon to be husband and seeing that look on his face - indescribable <3
We spent our honeymoon on the beautiful white sandy beaches of the Seychelles. It was a complete surprise for me, as I only found out as we went to the international check in counter. It was a week of much needed relaxation, most of which was spent snorkeling and scuba diving in the crystal clear turquoise sea.
I have always loved an elegant and timeless bridal look. I love to dance, so comfort was key! - Less is truely more :)
I instantly fell inlove with a Milla Nova dress from Vonve Bridal Couture. It was only the second dress I had ever tried on, but immediately got that butterfly feeling and knew that this was THE one! I chose a two tier veil to compliment the fine lace detail on my dress. I went for a pearl earring with silver detail to match my shoes. My hair and makeup was done by the talented Corle Barnard. I love a natural makeup look with a classic low bun hairstyle.
We got married at Nooitgedacht wedding venue in Stellenbosch. We fell inlove with the vintage cape dutch theme in March 2017 whilst on a winelands holiday. We decided then and there that this would be our venue and that we would get married the same time in 2018. Our guests stayed at various hotels and resorts in Stellenbosch. We had the privilege of staying at the manor house, whilst a few close friends and family members made use of Nooitgedacht’s guest rooms.

It is so important to enjoy the process. I did not follow strict diet regimes or “punish” myself in the process. I tried to make healthy food choices, drink plenty water and most importantly to get enough sleep. I love to exercise, and tried to do something active everyday when possible. I did weekly 20min EMS training sessions at Body 20 Walmer, which really helped me achieve my pre wedding body goals. “Dont only do it for the dress, do it for you!”
Planning this wedding from a different province was initially a daunting task, until I found Izandi from IDO4U. I knew she was the perfect person to coordinate and plan our big day. She effortlessly captured every dream and turned it into a reality by using only the best suppliers in the business. We dreamed of an enchanting forrest themed wedding, and we got this and even more! N concepts and design turned Nooitgedacht’s venue into an upside down forrest with an entire roof covered in greenery. This was lit up by large chandeliers and naked bulbs which brought the room to life. We had warm toned pink and peach coloured roses on our table with gold cutlery and crockery. We had a white tiled dancefloor with a customized gold monogram (by Luzanne’s Stationery). We had a DJ booth with custom lighting and sound set up by Compact Sound. They had us on the dance floor the entire night! Our bridal party bouquets were one of the favourite elements of the wedding. I have never seen such big and beautiful white roses before, all especially imported from Kenya. Every detail beautifully came together to form this most perfect day!

My husband looked handsome in a dark navy talored Vigano suit, paired with a dark toffee brown belt and shoes, with a white shirt. He had a pearl pink tie to compliment the colour scheme and the bridesmaids’ dresses. To finish it off I gifted him with custom made chrome silver cufflinks with our initials engraved. Groomsmen wore light tan chinos and a white shirt with a charcoal colour tie. They too had brown shoes and belts to match the groom’s. They all had white boutonnières made by N concepts and Design.
My bridesmaids wore a custom designed dress made beautifully by Catherine in Port Elizabeth. Each dress was made only on measurements sent in by each bridesmaid as all of them live in different provinces. They wore a soft pink A-line long dress brought in at the waist line by a jewelled ribbon belt. All 4 bridesmaids had soft curls with waterfall braids with a natural make up look done by Corle Barnard.
We had the privilege of having Troy Goldie as our marriage official. We had never met him before the wedding day, and had only skyped once. He made us feel so comfortable and really settled our nerves on the day. He brought a light hearted warmth to the ceremony, and kept it short and sweet whilst capturing the essence of what marriage meant to us. He surprised us with a special touch and sent us a clip he put together from our wedding ceremony.
Celeste from Aglow Photography has got to be one of the best choices we made for our wedding day. She really went the extra mile to get the perfect picture. Her infectious personality allowed us to let loose behind the lens - meaning all those laughs and smiles captured were real :) Only 2 days post wedding, we got the biggest surprise with about 60 “preview” pics to enjoy whilst on honeymoon. She is nothing short of amazing!
Lemonsquare Videographers effortlessly captured our day. Their work of art is something we will treasure for a lifetime.

We had a beautiful vintage green Austin Healey from SA Classics as our wedding car.
Nooitgedacht prepared all the food for the wedding. Their vast delicious menu made for a tough choice. We had canapés and pre drinks on the lawn after the ceremony. Our starter was a double baked pastry tartlet with a balsamic glaze. Our main was a choice between the Fillet le Nooitgedacht, oven roasted stuffed chicken breast or vegetarian option. We had a dessert table consisting of mini doughnuts, peppermint tartlets and much more. Our cake was made by the amazing Birdcage bakery. We had a vanilla 3 tiered naked cake with butterscotch filling and flower detail. We had the most scrumptious food paired with Nooitgedachts fine wine.

Luzanne’s Stationery designed and made our menus, programme board, greeting board and our dancefloor monogram. Her creativity and innovative designs added that special personal touch to our day.
I was on the dance floor from the moment we opened it until the last song. Compact Sound did an amazing job at making the atmosphere electric. Music plays such an important role in setting the mood. We did not take dance lessons as I wanted it to be spontaneous. We danced to Ed Sheeran - Tenerife Sea (one of our favorite songs). At pre drinks we were spoilt with the talent of Francios Haasbroek. He is truly a gifted guitarist and singer who made a huge impression on all our guests.
