We spent a week in Zanzibar and it was absolute paradise! We stayed at a beautiful resort called My Blue Hotel - right on the beach. Happiness personified!
A beautiful location just outside Melkbosstrand called Melkbos Functions venue. A gorgeous, private garden setting venue which is perfect for small intimate weddings.
My time leading up to the wedding, I didn't change a thing. I followed NO diets, only lived a healthy lifestyle - as I feel that on your wedding day; you should be who you are, no matter what, your husband is marrying you for who you are and you ARE beautiful. My idea of a healthy lifestyle is keeping active at least 4 times a week (however you enjoy), when you eat, choose the healthier options and follow a good skin routine. These are things we, as ladies should do anyway! :) No pressure should be added during this wonderful time of wedding planning.
My idea for decor was all white - elegant and classy. Flowers were minimal but romantic, the tables were white with a hint of silver and lit with candles in cylinder vases and the dance floor had fairy lights elevated about it. It was simple yet romantic and beautiful!
For my bridesmaids - I opted for navy blue infinity dresses. A style the could choose to be most comfortable in and something they could wear many occasions to follow!
Our marriage officer was a close friend who we have both known for MANY years. He wrote the ceremony himself, which made it all the more special as we were comfortable and he captured our love and relationship in the best way seeing as he was there for the very beginning!
The photographer I chose was a colleague who has true passion, however has never had the opportunity to shoot her first wedding (as many brides opt for experience). I decided to invest in her as a friend as well as someone who I truly believed in. This made things all the more comfortable as my husband is quite uncomfortable with taking photos, however since he knew her so well, he was able to relax a bit more - no pressure!
I planned the whole wedding alone! However on the day - had a lot of help from my mother and step - mother which made for great bonding time!
A close mutual friend - drove me in a pearl white range rover - this added to the already VERY special day as he was so touched and honored to have been a part of our special day!
