I will never forget the way that I felt, just seconds before my father walked me down the aisle. That magical moment where a heartbeat felt like a lifetime; where it felt like I could inhale every single detail; the moment when I felt absolutely euphoric, and yet, overwhelmed by absolute bliss. I was getting married to my soulmate; my best friend.
Our special day was filled with close family and friends, good food and lovely music. Both Wilhelm and I are extremely family orientated, and this helped us set the tone for our wedding. We wanted a relaxed and romantic atmosphere, where all our guests could feel like part of the family. This was achieved by a lot of different elements; from hand made invitation cards, all the way up to my grandmother's home made apricot jam.
Our wedding day was truly a celebration of life, our love for each other and our Heavenly Father. I wish that I could relive this day over and over again!
For our honeymoon we went to Bottelierskop Private Game Reserve. Here we were spoilt and pampered by their exceptional staff and picturesque views.
My wedding look can be described as classical and romantic.
Hair and makeup: This was done by the exceptional Lisa Brown.
Dress, garter and veil: My dress is very sentimental to me, because it was made by my mother, Elmare van der Merwe.
Ring: The amazing Isabel Phaff from Isabel Jewellery Design Studio
We got married at 401 Rozendal. We spent our first night as Mrs and Mr Kenny in one of their lovely cottages. Some of our guests also made use of the accommodation available.
Flowers: Our beautiful flowers were arranged by a close family friend, Erika van der Westhuizen. This lady is a force to be reckoned with! Not only did she arrange the flowers, but also decorated the ceremony and reception area.
Lighting: Sitting Pretty
Decor and Furniture: Ayjay Hiring and Function Hiring 4U
Gifts for the guests: Grandmother and Mother In Law
The rest was supplied by our lovely venue, 401 Rozendal
The groom had his suit made by Tux Tailor, Tygervalley.
The bridesmaids wore long chiffon skirts and sequenced tops created and made by my mother, Elmare van der Merwe.
Our marriage officer, Ds Cilliers, has officiated 3 generations of weddings in my family. It was a great honour and privilege to have had him officiate our marriage.
Our special day was captured by the incredibly talented Michelle Du Toit, from Michelle DT Photography. Short clips of our special day was captured into memories by Pie in the Sky Multimedia.
We did not have an official wedding planner, but Elandi Fernhout from 401 Rozendal was an absolute superstar! She coordinated the whole day and ensured that our day was absolutely perfect, flawless and stress free!
