Honestly, looking back the best moment for me was when I drove in my wedding car to the isle, we got married outside, everyone was seated and I could see Darren waiting for me, everyone was looking while we drove around to the entrance of the isle. I felt so proud & special..
The moment I became Misses Jennings was overwhelming, it felt like for just a split second we were the only two people on the planet..
There is nothing I would change.. I loved every moment from the moment I woke up to the the last goodnight kiss
My husband planned our Honeymoon.. I didn't find out until our wedding day when our Photographer accidently asked me if I'm excited to go Bali .. OOPS!
We spent the first few days in Ubud, the cultural heart of Bali... Beautiful rain forest surrounded by rice paddies.. Hindu temples & shrines are amoung Bali's most famos landscapes. From Ubud we travelled to Gili Air Island, OH BOY what an experience. Drenched in sweat we arrived on a boat, walked quite a distance to our Lodge and then BLISS. Gili air is a tiny Island, to be more specific, you can literally walk around the entire island in 2 Hours... SCARY, one wave and goodbye! This island is buzzing with tourists but never felt over crowded. I loved feeling so relaxed!
From Gili we travelled to Lombok. Spent our last four days missioning around on scooters, pub hopping & sight seeing.
Met new friends from Norway and we still have contact. They actually followed us from Gili to Lombok, Honeymoon Crashers ^_^
I have always known that I would never have a traditional wedding dress... I went to Diaan Daniels and asked him to draw my dream gown, he exceeded my expectatioins. The beaded parts of my dress was made in Mumbai, it had lots of lace and a very dramatic long "tail' which I loved. My make up was soft and I felt like a Queen. My shoes were light pink with silver details.. Why did you have to ask about lingerie, what lingerie? My jewelry was small Pandora earings with diamonds, I had nothing around my neck but my "something borrowed" was a beautiful diamond tennis bracelet from my sister, Teresa.
This is quite funny, we only saw The Stone Cellar once and immediately booked the venue... Located in Heidleberg..
We stayed over the Friday night before our wedding with our closest family & bridal party.. The venue has limited accomodation but assisted with names of Lodges close to the Venue.
I didn't go crazy bride on my beauty regime, I always take care of my skin with Nimue, went for 2 facials the month of the wedding & a body scrub a few days before the wedding.. I drank lots of water!!! Could not make use of the sunbed or tan as my husband has pale skin, didnt want us to look like a TopDeck haha... I did adjust my eating habits and lost my little pooch, but I have never been skinny, I was extremely happy to just be me, besides that is what makes you beautiful.
The advantage of only getting married at 34 means you've been a bridesmaid a couple of times and you know that everything does not have to be perfect, NOBODY knows if something is missing on your table but you.
Therefore, we early on decided to go for a very understated but tasteful look. I just wanted everyone to be comfortable and to see each other without crazy table decor in the way. Hartelief did our amazing flower arrangements, mainly pink & purple with lots of leaves & a dash of plum.
The main reception area has wooden finishes, glass chandeliers and modern design elements, the reception area creates a warm and homely atmosphere. We had string bulbs over the entire dancefloor... It created such a romantic setting
Handcrafted wooden tables, unique vintage dining chairs (in differenct shapes & colors) was one of our favorite attractions to this venue. We made use of the recommended Stone Cellar DJ.
I'm sure it's a male thing to do everything at the very last minute.. I left this part to Darren and I'm really happy I did.
He used his Best Man to fit and take photos to send to the other groomsmen, one lives in Cape Town and the other one in Kathu.. Logistically a very interesting exersize. The Groomsmens suits came from ZARA. They wore very light tight grey suits with white shirts & a grey tie, brown shoes & offcourse Happy Socks (Because it's a wedding thing)
Darren's suit I interfered with.. BUT he looked so handsome in his blue suit from The Executive in Bedford Centre.. He was so handsome on our wedding day, I flirted with him all night long. He is quite the looker, put that in a suit and BAM, magic! My husband, my very own Ryan Reynolds - he might not like this comment very much.. But this is for Bride of the Year, didnt see where the Groom has his say ;)
Originally I wanted all my bridesmaids to wear Floral wrap dresses, I shopped around but couldn't find any material that I liked.. I decided to go for three different colors and they wore wrap dresses made by Alta Barnard, my chatty, most amazing new friend.
Ash Design started her own Company by making swimming costumes. She was asked by a friend to help with Bridesmaid dresses and they came out so beautiful that she started making wedding gowns & bridesmaid dresses for a living. I highly recommend her.

This married couple has a very unique style that we liked from the word go. It was an easy decision for us.
I did all the planning with my husband.
I LOVE CLASSIC CARS.
My friends wife owns a beautiful navy blue Rolls Royce. This was my something blue as well.
A 1976 Silver Shadow in mint condition.
I made use of the venue's Chef... WOW, the guest still rave about the food. One of the most important elements of a wedding is feeding your guests gourmet food. They prepared food straight from heaven.
My beautfil mother-in-LOVE made our Wedding Cake
I designed our wedding stationery & had it printed by a good friend, The Bad Apple
We had 3 dancing lessons.. and did a cute (little bit cheesy) dance routine without messing it up.. It was a very special moment shared between newly weds. Crazy how extra in love you feel on your wedding day. Sound and lighting was done by Pulse DJ's
