Magical Moments

Our special day was filled with laughter right from the start.
The ring cushion was left behind and while the guests were waiting for me, the photographer improvised and used a hibiscus flower to act as the ring cushion. This wasn't mentioned to my nervous groom though, so when, halfway through the ceremony, we discovered that the flower was crawling with ants, the flower got chucked out the window, along with the rings. The entire church burst out laughing and there started our amazing journey - with laughter and love!
Everything else that followed was just light and happy and beautiful and I would do it all over again in a wink, rings flying and all!

The Honeymoon

My (then fiancee) worked abroad for 6 months and only arrived home just in time for our wedding. We thus opted to go to The Baths in Citrusdal and though we had 2 days of rainy weather, we absolutely loved it there!

My Special Day

I bought my dress online and at first I wasn't too fond of it. After trying on a couple of other dresses though, I decided to stick with it and I am pleased to say that I ended up loving it!
My hair was a messy side bun and my makeup was done by a loving friend and rising makeup artist. As it was a mid day wedding, I opted for all natural colours.
I chose to wear comfy Ipanema sandals as my shoes weren't visible underneath the long dress in any case.
My earrings were my "something borrowed" and the only accessory I had was a tiny Lego man which was attached to my flower bouquet. This acted as my "something blue".

The Venue

We got married in the most romantic little chapel named St Anthony in the Valley just outside Stellenbosch. It was perfect for our intimate ceremony.

My Captured Moments

My husband and I shopped around quite a lot to find our perfect photographer. We wanted somebody who would capture "moments and people" and work with all the natural beauty surrounding us.
Not knowing this, the photographer we chose had never done weddings before, but she did a stellar job of our photos and we are in love with the end result!

Food & Cake

Our reception was held at the stunning Middelvlei wine estate and they have the best traditional braai menu. Our guests absolutely loved the food and wine and the braai menu was an absolute treat.
Its not the traditional lunch you would come to expect at a wedding which made it even more special.

Our ridiculously delicious Sour Cream and Almond wedding cake was baked by a talented friend and founder of The Cake Trough.
