My most memorable moment was walking down the aisle and seeing the reaction of my Husband and everyone else. He was crying and so were most of our guests which was totally unexpected and made that moment that much more special.
The next best thing was our first dance and the party afterwards with all our guests who had traveled so far. We had so much fun.
We went to the Maldives for our Honeymoon straight after the wedding which I highly recommend. We had an absolutely amazing time!
I wanted a very classical elegant look for my wedding that would stand the test of time. However I wanted something that was also a bit unique. I was battling to find it and then I went to Bridal Manor. They made the appointment very easy and really listened to what I was looking for. I tried on my dress by Justin Alexander and I instantly knew it was the one. Very simple but with a bit of flair.
I then had a custom belt and hair comb made by Hayley Goodrich Accessories which just complimented the dress so perfectly. I wanted my shoes to be a different colour so I bought shoes and had them re-covered in material I chose to match the Bridesmaids dresses.
My make-up was done by my very talented friend, Nadia Wiggett from Creative Heroes and my hair was done by Tersia at Salon Bello in Parys.

We got married at the Nutcracker Country Venue in Parys. It was absolutely the perfect venue for us as we had it all to ourselves for the entire weekend. We wanted a celebration that wasn't just a day long and where were not limited to how long we could party for. We also wanted it to be very relaxed and with this venue being on the banks of a river, that definitely lended to the vibe. The wedding party gets their own house so thats great for the wedding day. The Bride is not relegated to a tiny room for the whole day. The accommodation on the venue was beautiful and there were 10 additional rooms and a pool for guests to stay at.
The food was absolutely to die for and the range of choices were amazing, you meet with their in house Chef to create your own menu and it makes it feel like your wedding is unique and not the stock standard food. It was really out of this world.
At the Nutcracker country Wedding Venue, we offer our guests a unique weekend or midweek getaway. Ideal for those seeking a different experience an hour and 30mins outside Johannes
I've got to be honest, I didn't do much leading up to the wedding other than whiten my teeth using a home kit, avoiding fizzy drinks and drinking lots of water!
All printables, menus, signs and floor decal were done by Creative Heroes. I knew exactly what I wanted and Nadia at Creative Heroes made it very easy for me. They really made the whole vision come together. the table and chairs were the venues own. I hired the cutlery from Belle Doux and the candlesticks from Moi Decor Hire.
The flowers were simply stunning and were what I had based my whole wedding look on. They were the centre of attention for me. They were done by my Mother, Debra Norton who owns her own company called Flowercraft. The feel of the decor wouldn't have been the same without them!
We wanted the classic colour of black and most men own their own black suits so we decided to let the guys wear their own suits. We bought matching ties and socks as a gift.
My Bridemaids wore dresses from a Local designer called Kameo. They stock dresses for YDE but you can contact them directly were they can do a range of dresses in a colour of your choice. I wanted dark green for my Bridesmaids dresses and I didn't want dresses that were loose and flowing. I wanted something that was fit and flair. Not only because it looked good on them but it also added to the overall look I was going for. I wanted them to feel gorgeous in their gowns!
Our Marriage Officer was pastor Jacques Bornman. He was really great as he really wanted to get to know us before the wedding and held a great ceremony for us with a fantastic message that everyone at the wedding could walk away with. We got lots of comments on how good his sermon was.
Ben Viljoen Photography was our photographer. I did a lot of research and as soon as I saw his website, I knew he was going to be the one we would pick. He does a documentary style of photography and captures moments when people aren't looking. Those photos always turn out the best. We chose not to videography or a photo booth.
We had no wedding Co-Ordinator. It was myself who planned everything but the venue was really great in assisting with making sure everything happened and went very smoothly.
All the food and the wedding cake were made by the Chef at the venue. It was some of the best food I have ever tasted. We had such a great range of choices to make up our menu which ended up with SUCH good food that wasn't very typical of a wedding. The cake was a white chocolate mousse cake that was absolutely to die for.
Our stationary was done by Creative Heroes.
We used the venue's DJ and lighting so it was one less thing to worry about. They were really easy to work with and were available for as long as you wanted them. We had a great party! We practiced our dance at home a few times but wanted it to be a fun natural dance which worked on the day.
