From the time we opened to the time we closed our eyes it was the most magical day.
The weather was perfect, the setting was perfect and the friends and family we had around us were perfect!
The highlight for me was walking down the isle, surrounded by 100s of faces but only seeing my husbands, that was most special. As well as feeling our baby kick for the first time!
Yes! We went to Mauritius <3
My look was a whimsical boho style, with my dress being comfortable yet daring!
My hair was braided and a comfortable natural upstyle and my makeup was natural organic and sun kissed.
I chose simple gold block heels to compliment my gold boho jewelley. I wore gold hoops, a leaf hair clip as well as customed maid necklaces by Michelle Robyn Jewellery (1 longer length that matched my bridal party with each of our initials on the front and wedding date stamped on the back. the other shorter chain had my birthstone enclosed in a gold casing, it was aqua as well as my 'something blue'.
I also work a thing gold bangle that my husband gave me on the day of the wedding from Dear Rae, that he had our wedding date engraved in.
In Franschhoek at a wine farm called Dieu Done and then we moved accross after to Roca Restaurant for our Reception.
Yes the flew in from all over the country as well as overseas countries, they stayed in Air bnbs and Hotels in the Franschhoek area.
I like to keep myself very healthy and natural, so I kept the prep simple and easy.
I kept up my daily exercise regime of running / cycling / yoga or Pilates.
I had gel overlays on my shortly kept toes and hands and chose a summery bright coral colour to compliment my lipstick.
I had a half set of lashes done so that I wouldnt have to wear much eye makeup and could keep my look more natural and bright.
Our decor was all about keeping it natural and letting the surrounding mountains and landscapes shine through.
We used a lot of greenery and sunflowers.
Our main focus was our outdoor dance floor completely surrounded by the most magical fairly light structure where we danced under the stars until early hours in the morning.
I was conflicted between smart classic black suits and a comfortable yet smart look.
In the end my groom wore a full black suit that we had custom made during a trip to Thailand earlier that year, he then changed into Smart black shorts to match his groomsmen (From H and M), with white linen shirts, tan belts and boat shoes (from Kingsley Heath) topped with Panama hats (From woolies) to give the look a complete wine farm french feel.
My bridesmaids looking incredible in matching sage coloured linen skirts (fabric from Mintys). They all wore their own chosen cream coloured tops to suit each of their personalities, finalized with gold jewellery (matching mine) and sandals.
Jen Hands - shes the best !
Michigan Behn Photography - we flew her in from Durban as there was no one else we would rather capture our day!!
Nope. I planned the wedding of my dreams from start to finish all on my own, from 1000kms away! and i loved every single minute of it. I love organizing and planning so theres no one I wanted to trust my big day with besides myself.
We were lucky enough to stay on the wine farm itself, so we walked up.
The restaurant Roca prepared our food.
And we had a custom made cheese cake from Dalewood Cheesery do ourcake in which we served as our canapes.
We didnt use much stationery.
We had a big poster printed as our welcome board for the guests to see the times and order of the day.
We then changed it during canapes with the seating plans.
Each name was hand written onto a leaf on their plates with a personalized picture memory with the bride, groom and guest as well as a hand written note to them.
It was our hilite.
We had dinner early so we could have our first dance outside under the stars with the sun setting, it was magical.
The guests did not leave the dance floor from 7pm until the next morning it was amazing.
Too-netts did the lighting.
The DJ company was our DJ.
