The honeymoon was a very well kept surprise for me.
We went to the Misty Mountain Reserve for four nights - we enjoyed beautiful views, quad biking, walks, picnics and had so many mini adventures.
After that, we spent two nights at the Tsitsikamma Lodge and Spa where we went zip lining and got amazing massages before heading back home :)
I went for a simple and elegant look.
For the ceremony I had lace sleeves that attached to my dress. I took them off half way through the photoshoot.
My hair was curled and twirled into a messy plat with a hand made hair vine done by Enchant Bridal Accessories.

My makeup was done by Geraldine Palmer and hair by Kirsty Evans at Colour Fusion in Uitenhage. They are an amazing team and really go out of their way to make you happy.
My wedding dress was made by Jason Kieck - what an amazing designer! He was so open and honest about styles that would suit me and made sure the colour we chose would go with my skin tone etc. - firstname.lastname@example.org
I ordered my shoes online (Spree). I had to go for a simple silver and strappy flat shoe so I could be comfy all night and enjoy every moment without aches and pains.
I borrowed earrings from my mom and sister, my hubby surprised me with a bracelet on the day and my mom in law gave me a very special necklace as my something old. It was perfect!
With regard to undies - I didn't need a bra because my dress had padding in, and I went for a seamless pair of panties for comfort.
We got married the The Caledon (conference and wedding venue) in Uitenhage.
It's quite a small venue but we only invited the people closest to us.
Some guests stayed the night but most where close to home.
My fitness/exercise increased about two months before the wedding. This wasn't to lose weight but to maintain and tone a bit more.
I stayed with my mother a week before the wedding and we made sure we ate healthy, did not exercise and avoided any foods that may cause bloating, we did a facial mask, got lots of rest and that's it.
I did use a teeth whitening toothpaste the week before as well which just brightened my smile :)
Craig Anderson captured our special day for us. He is an amazing photographer who will lie on the ground and climb trees to get a shot if he needs to.
My sister surprised us with two REAL OWLS for our photoshoot! They are the most beautiful creatures and my absolute favourite animal.
We did not have a videographer, however, we had a GoPro going around capturing a few moments.
I planned everything to the detail - however, the venue owner executed everything beautifully.
My mom and sisters also helped a lot! I don't know what i'd do without them!
We got ready at the venue so no wedding transport was needed
The Caledon did my catering as well - we had a harvest table for starters, a good hearty meal for mains and had a selection of mini desserts to choose from.
My cake was made by Kendall Amber Van Zyl - an old school friend that is now a wonderful baker
The most amazing woman - Natalie Craig from Wize Owl Designs - did all my stationary for me and made sure I was happy with all designs before going ahead and printing them. When a few items came out incorrectly, she went out of her way to fix them and was super speedy.
My husband and I practiced our own little dance a few months before the wedding - I used to be a dance instructor. It was so much fun leading up to the wedding that my mother and I decided to do a little dance as well.
Our DJ was provided by the wedding venue. They were extremely good and met with us before the time to make sure all music was set and ready for certain moments etc.
