My most memorable moment was definitely the moment I walked down the aisle...as my husband,Evril Delport, couldn't hold back his tears. I think I will always, when thinking back on our special day, think of that moment. Our first dance was so so special, because even though we have been together for more than 6 years,it was our very first slow dance as a couple EVER.
Unfortunately,we were not able to go on honeymoon due to finances. We did however, spend the week with family. As I am still a student,we are saving to have our honeymoon on our 1 year anniversary,God Willing.
My hair and make up was done by the amazing Wilna Allpass. Soft and romantic colours and curls. Jewellery and accessories on my wedding day,was my something borrowed from my beautiful sisters,Jaclyn and Robyn and I went with pearls with a little sparkle in between. My dress was from Besters Bridal in Knysna. The most beautiful dress I have ever set foot in. Off white lace dress with a lace back, empire waist dress. Train of the dress and veil made it even more romantic look. Shoes,I went with flats...gold strap sandals with off white pearls on them and at reception changed to a diamante strap sandal.
We got married and had our reception at Wilderness Beach Hotel. All our guests stayed the night.
I had my nails,as well as waxing done the Thursday afternoon at Feathers Spa. The night before the wedding I had my feet and hands done by my maid of honour, friends spoiled me with a face mask and a few snacks. I had an early night and early morning the day of the wedding. Had breakfast in my hotel room and had a loooooooooong relaxing bath. Wilna arrived and I sat back with a glass of champagne while my hair and make up was done.
The ceremony was outside with the beach in the back. We had a gazebo draped with white linen, white chair covers with a red carpet down the middle and the chairs along the aisle had navy blue straps around it. We made use of black boards for special notes to our guests. Wedding favours we had mint bags with a picture of us,little fridge magnets and champagne bottles with a little message and our date. Our colour was navy blue with a touch of pink, table decor was white table cloths with navy blue lace runners and the flowers brought in different shades of pink on the tables and at the ceremony. We had a corner which we made a photo corner with props, a wooden tree where guests could write their names or a message as our guestbook and a memory corner for my father who had passed. We had two cakes,a biltong cake with white lace around and a normal 2 layer white fondant cake with navy blue lace around. We had a wooden cake topper (Mr&Mrs Delport) and a ceramic one. We also had a wooden table stand with Mr&Mrs Delport. We had a 3 course buffet supper.
My husband went with a 3 piece navy blue suit, white shirt, navy blue tie and pink flower pin on his chest. Our groomsmen had navy blue pants, white shirts, navy blue bow ties and suspenders, pink flower pins and for shoes they went with navy blue all stars. My husbands suit as well as the groomsmens attire was bought at Markhams, flower pins and bow ties at The Gent in Oudtshoorn and shoes at Sportscene.
My bridemaids had navy blue long flowy dresses, with gold accessories and shoes. And their flowers had different shades of pink and white. Their hair they went side plat upstyle. We got their dresses from Estique Boutique in George
Reverend Sweetland from Pacaltsdorp UCC in George.
Our photographer was Deidre Mackenna,Deidre Designs. She did such an amazing job in capturing all our special moments and really went out of her way for the perfect shot. Our videographer was Wendell Anthony.
My planner was my dearest mother,Ann Anthony and I wouldn't have had it any other way. She took my ideas and made it so much more and so much more beautiful.
As everything was held at the same venue,we only needed transport to where we had our photos taken. We had an Audi Q7 2017 model arranged by my sister in law Delmary Delport.
Both our cakes were done by Comien Norje from Meel en Kaneel,a bakery in Oudtshoorn. All our food was prepared by the staff of Wilderness Beach Hotel but the head chef was Nadia Booysen who did an absolutely amazing job.
All printing and designing was done by Sonia from Kay-Seans Designs in Oudtshoorn.
We definitely had a party. We had a DJ,Marvin Saayman, who goes by the name Slide the DJ. Such a talented DJ,who really made it enjoyable for all our guests with the music. Not one person did not dance at some point during the reception. We did not have any lessons
