Magical Moments

The highlight of the day was the moment we first saw each other. The look on my husband's face as he laid his eyes upon me still take my breath away just thinking about it.

The Honeymoon

My husband and I had the most memorable honeymoon. After the wedding, we spent two nights at Africa Pearl Guest house in Paarl. They had such a peaceful environment with a breath taking view of such a beautiful garden. Thereafter we traveled home to pack for our actual honeymoon which took place at The Baths, Hot Springs in Citrusdal. There we spend a week in our own cabin on the outside with an outdoor Jacuzzi for ourselves.

My Special Day

The look I portrayed on the day was vintage with a twist. I had a custom made dress with shoulders and a short train with lace. I also had a long 3meter vail without a clip which was only used for the ceremony and photo's. That made it easier for me to enjoy my reception to the fullest.
For my make-up, I went for a more simplistic look to make the touch up during the day much easier.
My jewelry was more theme orientated. I had short pearly earrings with a silver bangle and a small spider shaped clip in my hair.
I had two hairstyles for the day. For the reception and photo's, I had a side bun with a spider clip on top of it. For the reception, I untied my hair and clipped the one side to the back with the spider clip.

The Venue

We got married at Ashanti WIne Estate in Paarl. My Wedding started at 16:00 which ran straight through till the morning hours. My guests did not stay the night for they all traveled home afterwards.

Wedding Elements

My décor was a vintage them. I did not have to look for décor for the venue offered me everything I needed. From the chair, to the chandeliers. And even the mirrors. The venue had three different reception areas available which was fully to our use. We could basically shift our guest from one hall to another. This lead to time saving for our guest did not have to travel from one venue to another.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom and groomsmen first started with a custom made t-shirt and jeans for the before photo's. They than changed into custom made cufflinks, blue ties (the groom had a silver silk tie), white shirt and rented pale blue suits with a custom made tan belt. They also had tan formal shoes.

Marriage Officer

Our marriage officer was our own Pastor who we love, appreciate and admire. Pastor Pierre Hoffman. He was there for both of us since we gave my life to the Lord and it was great honor for us to have him marry us.

The Wedding Planner

I did not have a wedding planner but I had help from a lot of my family members, in-laws and friends. I am an educator at a primary school with many responsibilities therefore I did not have much time to do all the planning on my own. Everyone helped with love, support and even donations. I was open to everyone's ideas but the final decision was still my say. Most of my help come from my mother in-law who enjoys organizing events.
