Jean and I went to Cape Town for a few days after the wedding. The trip was really relaxing and we enjoyed every second of it. However, we are busy planning our “proper” Honeymoon for April 2018. The plan is to go somewhere “exotic” that has lots of fun activities for us to do!
Jean and I got married at the Stone Cellar in Heidelberg. It is a beautiful and unique wedding venue. We knew it would be the perfect place that would meet all of our expectations for the wedding. We couldn’t be happier with our choice.
The Stone Cellar does have a few accommodation options. There are rooms available just opposite the reception area and then a farm house that has been split up into separate rooms, each being named after a specific wine. We used this accommodation for family and the Bridal party. The rest of the guests either travelled home afterwards or went to stay at Yesterday-Today-Tomorrow for the night.
We were very blessed to have two photographers for the day. A friend of mine (who is a teacher) organised a student to come and take photos of us while we were getting ready. The student’s name is Mikayla Venter from Mikayla’s Photography. She is an extremely talented, young girl who takes beautiful pictures. We were lucky to have her there to capture all the hair and makeup moments.
Our main photographer was Aline Strydom from Aline Photography. She is an amazing person. Extremely bubbly, friendly and loves to laugh with us. We felt comfortable with her and really had lots of fun taking all our pictures throughout the day. I highly recommend these two lovely ladies, you won’t be disappointed. They are just great!
We also made use of a photobooth. Instead of having signs, we just had crazy props. Wigs, feather bowers and plenty more. It was a ball!
