The Honeymoon

Yes!
We went to Nambiti Private Game Reserve
http://www.nambiti.com/
It was a surprise right up until we drove through the gates. I absolutely love the bush and we were treated like a King and Queen. We had the most awesome sightings too.

My Special Day

I went for a classic look, natural make up and an up style for my hair. My dress was a blush pink colour and I wore nude wedges from Saint and Summer. My Mom added a little material flower to the top of each shoe.

The Venue

We were married at Orchards in the KZN Midlands. Its a beautiful all in one venue with a bridal home that accommodates the bridal party as well as the Chapel (Inside or outside, which ever you choose), a "Midway" area called the Stables where our guests snacked on a harvest table and had drinks while we had our photos taken and then the beautifully allocated reception area.
From their website "Orchards is an elegant and romantic wedding venue situated in the rolling hills of the Caversham Valley in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands".
Some of our guests stayed at the neighbouring property which is owned by the same family called Gowan Valley Guest Farm. We had a Friday night get together at Gowan with the guests the night before the wedding.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I wasn't completely happy with my teeth so I had braces for 6 months before the wedding, and literally had them off the week before we got married.

Wedding Elements

We had a shabby chic look and feel, a little bit rustic but classic. The venue provided the most beautiful rectangular tables that didn't need table cloths, we used hessian runners to tie everything together. We were lucky enough to have my Mom do all the flowers for the wedding. We had Proteas and lots of greenery in wooden boxes and beautiful vases.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The Groom (Now my husband :-)) wore a dark grey suit with a light grey waistcoat and sage coloured tie.
His groomsmen wore light grey suits and sage coloured ties.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My Bridesmaids wore sage green long dresses which they ordered off the same website (1 was based in America and 1 was in the UK). The styles were different but the colours were exactly the same.

My Captured Moments

We chose Steph & Elaine from Dust & Dreams Photography. We did an engagement shoot with them 6 months before our wedding and we are so happy we did that as we got to know them and we knew what to expect on our wedding day. They were awesome and so easy to work with. We were very happy with the end results.

We also had a videographer on the day. Bernard from Barefeet was also fantastic. We hardly even knew he was there the entire day, but the video produced included lots of special moments we had missed on the day.

The Wedding Planner

My Mom and I coordinated most of the elements for the day. The suppliers we used we fantastic and shared lots of advice through out the process.

Food & Cake

Our food was prepared by The Fat Aubergine from Pietermarizburg. Margie was just so delightful and the food was exquisite.
We opted not to have starters but rather a harvest table for guests to snack on while we were having our photos taken.
Main course was a choice of Lamb shank, Basil chicken or a veg dish.
We also opted not to have a dessert as such. Our cake doubled up as the dessert. We had a cutting cake and then almost 100 smaller cakes, 6 different favours (as we couldn't choose just one) each on their own small cake board that guests could eat or take home with them in the take away boxes provided. Our beautiful cake/s were made by Jen @ Farmers Daughter in Howick.
