Our budget for the wedding was non existing. We decided to do from the food to the wedding cake ourselves. The most amazing experience we had was both our families coming together to make our wedding day so special. Everyone arived early the morning to help with the food and to set up the tables. We did not go on honeymoon. We will definitely go on honeymoon some day.
I was 8 and a half months pregnant when we got married, most dresses i tried to fit would not even close. We decided to have a normal plain dress made locally. It was a v cut dress with a high waist to try and reduce the giant tummy effect. It was snow white. Our colours at the wedding was black and white so i added a black ribbon to the dress. I wore white pumps as i could not fit high heels. We hired my husband close, which consisted out of a black chino pants, a white shirt and tie.
We got married at our dream venue. Morgensvlei in Tulbagh. Our guests spend the night all over the small town of tulbagh.
I did not have any beauty treatment before the wedding, was so busy spraying trees and making table cloths. I did have my hair done on the day of the wedding as well as my make up. I absolutely loved that feeling of sitting down and being made into a princess.
We did everything ourselves. We decided on white and black as our colour. I saw on the internet an idea to spray branches and use it as a centre piece. We went to an old wine vineyard and rescued branches with the most amazing character. We sprayed them black and planted them in empty cans. Those you buy dog food in. We also had smaller tins that we bore holes in the shape of our initials and hearts. We put candles in the tins, this made for the most romantic soft lighting. We also had empty glass jars that i sprayed white with candles in. We are so proud of everything we were able to make ourselves
