How did your love story begin?

Every girl knows, if shes invited to a wedding with a date, you have to take a date.!

So it all started that I was invited to one of my dearest friends weddings and I have to bring a plus one, at that stage I was single for about 3 weeks so I recently had a break-up, so I have to take a date!!

As me and 3 friends drove to a hockey match, I asked them to help find me a date, it can be anyone , he just have to accompany me to this wedding nothing else. Rochelle then said but she think her nephew may be an option. She then arrange for him to come from Polokwane, luckily his parents are also in the same town as mine so extra visit for him, and meet me for a coffee first ( I mean he can be a weirdo or something, a coffee first is necessary!) .
We agreed to meet at one of our local restaurants for something light. It turned out to be such a great evening, we actually helped closed the restaurant that night. (By saying, it was the start of something big)

He then agreed to go to the weeding with me that next weekend and after that, we couldn't stay away from each other!!!

The Honeymoon

Everybody wants a honeymoon that is unforgettable, we are also one of those couples.

But heres where the catch is,we didn't want a regulate beach type of honeymoon, no, we want adventure, lots of laughter and unforgettable memories.

together we decided we want to save up and travel to Orlando to explore Disney World in Florida.
Yes you read right, we want that kind of excitement and adventure.

So we decided before the wedding that, that is what we both want, 2 weeks in the heart of Disney, full of rides and a lot to explore.

We were thinking to go next year June/July because by then its nice and sunny weather and we had saved up enough.

The Venue

My husband, Lodewyk, always wanted to have a bush-veld wedding, that was his only wish.

So as I struggle to get into the idea, I thought maybe I can put a bit elegant into the whole bush-veld idea.

So as we did venue hunting, Lodewyk knew some people and so we went sight seeing.

We decided on Villa Maroela, around 25 KM outside of Polokwane, in the heart of the bushveld.

Almost all our guest is in other provinces, but luckily for us our venue has a lot of cabins, safari tents and rooms to be used.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

Its always difficult to let the men decide what or what not to wear on there own.

I always found a blue suite to be more elegant and more attractive.
Luckily for me , my husband also thought so.

Of course they had to match my colors of the wedding which was navy, burgundy and gold.
My lovely husband wore a navy blue suit with a white long sleeve t-shirt underneath a navy waistcoat and then of course the tie was a bit of gold and chino color.

His groomsmen also match each other.
You can never go wrong with chinos.
They also wore white long sleeve T-shirt with a navy blue sweater and that same touch of gold the groom was wearing.

But what about shoes!! nothing better suitable that brown ones!!!

They then stand together, all neat and navy with their own personalized hip-flask from the groom.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

Every bridesmaid should look as beautiful as she can be.

I mean if the bridesmaids are looking beautiful, the bride would look even more gorgeous and together they are breathtaking.

I was going for the colors blue, burgundy and gold and had to take in mind that its going to be a bush-veld wedding.

I knew I can never go wrong with Navy and with that thought the groomsmen also wore navy so perfect match.

They were wearing a navy dress covered in an overlay of lace.

With curls everywhere something bling was a must for earnings.

Because of the bush-veld brown shoes just fit perfectly.

My Captured Moments

After searching and searching I've finally found the one who can capture the magic.

Natalie Loots, not only will take breathtaking photos but she will make you feel like you knew each other for a very long time.

We only had a photographer at our special day, and what is a wedding without some fun photos.

We had a photo corner with couches and a very bush-veld vibe. Funny signs were used and a lot of laughter took place.

The Wedding Planner

As with my luck, my venue host did everything for me, the decor was included. She managed the tables and chairs.

I can honestly say, I really didn't stress about anything. She did everything for me.

My bridesmaids and I did a few planning together but no wedding planner was needed.

Wedding Transport

Put on your heels and you can go anywhere.

Luckily for me our chapel was on the venue and close by where I got dressed.

With heels on my feet, dress held up in my hands and my bridesmaids by my side, nothing could have stopped us from walking to the chapel :)

Food & Cake

I thing I strike the luck again.

My food and wedding cake was included in my wedding venue package.

I had it all and honestly, no stress was needed for all that stuff. Trudie our venue host did everything for me, Better than that I could never have asked for.

Wedding Stationery

Nothing better that DIY!!!

My wedding programs I did myself. Ideas thanks to Pinteres

I had no menu - surprises are sometimes a good idea!!!

My thank you note I also did myself.

The Reception and Entertainment

First thing you have to know, we are dancing people, and luckily for us, all our guest can dance. ( sakkie-sakkie style)

We had a DJ, (also included in our wedding package, like I said I was very lucky) who also took care of the lights and sound.

It was a party!!!
Everybody danced and feast!!

It was an amazing wedding, I really cant say anything that I wanted to do different.

We haven't had any dance lessons. We are both sakkie sakkie people and we just went for it!!!
