Werner (my husband) and I fell in love at the very first moment we saw each other. We immediately knew "life" was something we wanted to share together and forever.. We started dating and got to know the best and worst of each other but our love grew stronger each day. We faced many challenges in life together, and it all built a firm foundation on which we decided to share our lives together as husband and wife.
In the beginning of May 2017 two of our dearest friends / role models suggested that they would like to help make our fairy tale wedding become a reality and said that if we wanted we can have our wedding on the 8th of July, 2017. And that they would provide the wedding venue and food on their lovely farm situated outside of Cullinan. We felt so blessed and honored as this was a huge gift and even though it was just under 2 months before the wedding date, we were so excited and knew we could plan everything in time and still have the wedding I've been dreaming of my whole life.. so why wait?!! We immediately started planning our special day and Werner started planning my ring and our engagement.. the ring was finished two weeks before the wedding.. and one evening as I came home he called me into the room - I was busy cooking and had no idea what was waiting for me.. As I entered the room in a hurry - there he was on one knee asking me to be his wife with the most beautiful ring I've ever seen.. As tears rolled down my cheeks I was filled with happiness and excitement and finally realized this is really happening - I'm getting married to the man of my dreams!!
I love attention to detail and to me our wedding day had to be memorable for both me and my husband but also the guests. The ceremony had to especially be something different and very special, I therefore decided to add something unique and different to the day. I had a recording made with background music which played right after the bridesmaid's entrance, before I entered the ceremony. The recording was a special letter I had written to my husband on our wedding day. Everyone spoke about this and how he and everyone else was so touched by this and tears kept rolling down his face as he listened to the words I've chosen for the love of my life. As the recording stopped, a live bagpipe band entered the ceremony on "Highland Cathedral" followed by me and my dad, this was the most beautiful moment of my life!!
We only went away for a few days to a lodge called Madikela, as my husband had limited leave at the time. We would love to still go on a proper honeymoon.
I went for a classy, vintage type of look for my wedding. My makeup and nails were done by Tammy Tailor. I had a bridal bun done my Olive Hair designs. My wedding dress was absolutely stunning, made by Lise Designs. It was a champagne color dress, covered in lace, off the shoulder with lace sleeves and a long veil - I felt and looked like a princess. I wore flat lace shoes and chandelier earrings to complete the look.
We got married on a private farm outside of Culinan.
I spent the time before my wedding, watching what I ate, got some exercise and drank lots of water to keep hydrated and make my skin appear flawless on the day. I also went for regular hair and beauty treatments and most important I spent time on spiritual well being.
The whole place was covered in fairy lights and candles and created such stunning atmosphere. We had bales all over with lanterns and inside the barn where the reception was held, it was classically decorated in white and silver with a few red roses to create romance and warmth. The setup was stunning.
The Groom and groomsmen wore Grey, the groom a darker shade of grey with a champagne color tie. The groomsmen wore light grey with wine red colored ties. They were all dressed by Bride & Co.
The bridesmaids were dressed in Grey and Wine red with scarfs from Dubai as it was a winter wedding the colors looked absolutely stunning. They were also dressed by Bride & Co as well as YDE.
Our minister was Marthino Nel, he's know us since the beginning of our relationship 3 years ago and he gave us a very special message on the day.
Mark Dentry was our photographer, he was absolutely amazing. He captured ALL our special moments and he made the whole experience so much more fun and exciting. He is so talented and would recommend him to all brides. He is relaxed and fits in to your needs, I was truly blessed with such an amazing photographer and amazed when I got the sneak preview of our photos. WOW!!!!

I had no special arrangements made with the wedding transport.
Anjoret and her husband prepared the food, the people who made this all possible for us - and EVERYONE LOVED the food!! We had a biltong cake which I made myself.
I did it myself as I love doing things like that and being creative.
The party was a celebration of our love and the special day, we had a DJ who also did the lighting. Werner and I both love dancing so we didn't take dance lessons we just went with the music and it was beautiful. We had a photo corner and a desert / candy buffet which the guests loved. Everyone just had fun with us.
