How did your love story begin?

We met of all places, at work. I had a crush on him from day one and it was love at first sight (he felt the same but I didn’t know that at the time). We got each others contact details and we continued to get to know each other over the next few months ,we chatted a lot and we felt free to talk about anything and everything. We talked about family, friends, past relationships, our hobbies, you name it. It didn't take him very long to ask me out, we went on a ice skating date and when we got home he told me how crazy he was about me and asked me out and of course my answer was YES! . Geoffrey and I have been together ever since and I am so happy that God gave us the opportunity to have such a unique and special relationship.

Tell us all about the proposal.

Geoffrey always took me on very romantic dates as he is a very romantic guy. This is one of the many reasons why I love him. One day he told me to dress warmly, because we’re going on a date, so I eagerly got ready for this date he was taking me on. He took me to a private beach and asked me if I could wait in the car for a while just so he can go check out the beach. A short while after I received a sms asking me to come down to the beach. As I got down to the beach I saw a little board with the words “101 reasons why I love you” written on it and I knew this was no ordinary “DATE”. I started following all the little boards, each on with a unique reason as to why he loved me written on them. At the end I came to a big heart in the sand surrounded by flowers and Geoffrey in the middle. It all left me breathless. He had a whole speech and then went down on one knee and proposed with the most beautiful ring. It was one of the happiest moments of my life and the cherry on the cake – he secretly videotaped the whole proposal.

Magical Moments

There wasn't a specific moment that was more special than the rest, I think our whole day was so incredibly special, we got to share our special day with all of our closest friends and family and our little girl who just turned 4 months old on this day. I had everything a girl could want and more.

The Honeymoon

We went on a very short honeymoon to Tsitsikamma, where we stayed in a lodge in the honeymoon suites . It was magical, we had lots of champagne, picnic baskets and went on the most crazy trail walk. I would still love for us to go on a 2nd honeymoon that is a bit longer than the first one.

My Special Day

I went for a very simple, yet classy wedding look, I didn't want anything over the top. My hair was done very early on the day of the wedding and it was lots of curls pinned up in a lovely side bun look. My wedding dress was inspired by a dress I saw online and my very talented mother in law took one look at the dress and made me that exact dress from scratch - AMAZING!
I wore diamond earings with a matching bracelet and light pale shoes with diamante's on them. Everything was exactly like I always wanted it. It was my fairytale wedding come true.

The Venue

We got married on a private beach in Paradise Beach, it was absulutely stunning!

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I did some facials the week before my wedding, lots of healthy foods, plenty of water and green tea to keep hydrated and to help keep my skin looking good. I also did a lot of hair treatments and went for a full body wax and a nice massage to relax before the big day arrived .

Wedding Elements

The decor was all set in white, red and gold. The tables all had red roses on as a centerpiece along with a message in a bottle and home made fudge as a "thank you" gift .It was a day wedding so there was no fancy lights and we did most of the stuff ourselves to try make the day a bit more special.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom and groomsman wore a simple beige pants with white smart shirt and classic black tie and brown shoes which they got from woolies.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My braidsmaid wore a deep pinotage red dress from YDE, it fit in perfectly with the wedding theme which was a deep red and white.

Marriage Officer

Our marriage officer was a local dominee we knew, he was very kind and sweet and had known both Geoffrey and I for quite a while .

My Captured Moments

We were honored to have the most amazing photographer Adrianna who's comapany is called Serendipity. She helped capture all our special moments and made us feel so at ease, it didn't feel like there was a photographer taking photosof us at all. Everything was just fun and casual. I would definitely reccomend her to any bride to be looking for an amazing photographer. We even got a sneak peek at some of our photos and they were breathtaking!

The Wedding Planner

My family and I planned the whole wedding ourselves, from decor to food to flowers, venue etc. It was quite an experience planning everything ourselves, but the whole wedding turned out lovely .

Wedding Transport

I didn't make arrangements for any transport as it was on the beach, we kept everything very simple and intimate.

Food & Cake

The food was done by a chef at a local restaurant and then some of the snacks was hand made by my mother in law, who also created the most beautiful wedding cake in no time at all, everyone loved the food!

Wedding Stationery

My mother in law did all our stationery, she put in so much effort which made everything more special.

The Reception and Entertainment

Everyone had a blast at the party and I especially enjoyed our first dance as Mr and Mrs. We had a Dj playing music we selected before the time and NO we didn't go for any dance classes as we just went with the music and often go out dancing together so we already knew eatch other's styles or shall I say moves ;)
