Magical Moments

We had so many memories, one special one would be Steve, a professional musician, played a special song for me at our reception.

My Special Day

I wanted a very simple and timeless look. I had Charelle Mcallister do my make up and hair. She was brilliant. It was everything I had asked for and more. I bought my wedding dress in Sydney, Australia from an Australian designer, Elle Zeitoune. The dress fit me like a glove and I added a few embellishments. My shoes I bought online from Asos Wedding they were super high as my husband is a foot taller than me. My jewellery was very simple, just diamond earrings I borrowed from my mother and a necklace my husband gave me for an anniversary.

The Venue

We got married at the Oyster Box hotel in Umhlanga Rocks. We had a destination wedding so everyone travelled to Umhlanga to attend the wedding and we had family and friends stay at the Oyster Box and surrounding hotels.

Wedding Elements

We wanted to keep everything simple and natural. Our theme was old vingtage style with white, rose gold and midnight blue as our colours. We had an array of white flowers in low vases on the tables with battery operated fairy lights and rose gold coloured candle votives. We also had a 'chill lounge' in the reception area which was white couches, where our guests could sit and relax.

Marriage Officer

Our marriage officer was an amazing priest called Father Oliver from Johannesburg. He was kind and patient with us and gave a very good sermon.

My Captured Moments

We had Alexis Diack take our photos. She took beautiful shots of us, very natural and we had a lot of fun. She took amazing shots of us, our guests, decor and scenery. She also made a beautiful book filled with all our memories

The Wedding Planner

The Oyster Box has a wedding coordinator who is a part of the day. Ginny was organised and made sure our day went very smoothly and that we and our guests were comfortable. Unfortunately after our wedding we never heard from her or the Oyster Box even after sending several emails/cards of thanks.

Wedding Transport

As we were staying at the Oyster Box we did not have transport to the ceremony however the hotel has a beautiful ox blood Rolls Royce which takes you from the ceremony to the front entrance of the hotel. This was very special and Steve and I both enjoyed the short ride.

Food & Cake

Our food was prepared by The Oyster Box hotel. It was absolutely delicious with amazing prawns as a started, beef fillet and an array of desserts. Our cake was made by Nicole's Signature Cakes, it looked exactly how we wanted it look.

Wedding Stationery

Steve and I, with our very good friend from Venecia Designs designed and printed our stationery. We had vintage rose gold letter press on midnight blue card which we used for our invites, thank you's, menus and table names.

The Reception and Entertainment

We had a live band play called the Jazz Minkeys. They were outstanding and played a wide rage of songs. They were also very accommodating and played all the songs we requested, they brought their own sound and lighting. Steve played with them and had a blast. I am so happy we had a band, nothing beats live music
