We were blessed with the most beautiful sunny wedding day. My highlights was seeing Johan at the end of the aisle as I was walking down the aisle, our I do's, our first dance and Johan's speech. Every second of our wedding day was memorable.
We went on a two week honeymoon! We went to Harolds Bay and stayed at the oubaai hotel and golf estate. A breathtakingly beautiful estate with a stunning view over the sea. We had amazing adventures visiting monkeyland on the garden route, we got to see the monkeys in thier natural habitat and had a first hand experience when the monkey tried to hijack Johan's water bottle on the famous higakin bridge in the sanctuary. The wolf sanctuary where we got to interact with the wolf's and learn more about thier packs and how the live. They are the most beautiful majestic animals and there is a lot to learn from them. We had many adventures on the garden route and with our very small car loaded with all my luggage we drove to Sudwala Lodge. We stayed over in clarens, and it was the coldest evening we ever experienced. The B&B we stayed at was so welcoming and friendly witch made the cold weather a lot more bearable. We the continued on the next day to Sudwala Lodge. We had so much fun at the lodge , we visited the Sudwala Caves, the fish spa that was the best experience ever, little restaurant's, waterfalls and so much more. We came back with so many memories that will forever stay with us!
I went for a very elegant simple look for my wedding day. I bought my wedding dress at a boutique. I said to my mom let's just have a look, and the minute I saw my dress I was sold. My sister help me find my gorgeous rose gold shoes. I then decided to add the rose gold ribbon to my dress for some elegance. I had small rose gold earings and a rose gold bangle. My makeup was done by Thelma from beautiful beginnings, she is the sweetest warm person and she captured exactly what I wanted my makeup to look like. My hair was done by Herman at H hair studio. I bought a rose gold Alece band for my hair and he styled my hair so beautifully from only looking at my inspiration once. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day and it would not have been possible without my amazing suppliers.
We got married at Kuthaba Bush Lodge. The most beautiful outdoor wedding Venue in Nylstroom. We chose Kuthaba because I said I would like a outdoor wedding Venue where I can say my vows under a tree and have our reception around a boma area. Johan found Kuthaba Bush Lodge on the internet. We went for a venue visit and we knew it was our wedding Venue. We had a very small intimate wedding and all our guest stayed for the weekend. We had a braai around the boma on Friday evening and our guest could not stop complementing us on our wedding Venue. The next day they had a breakfast buffet before everyone went about there activities for the day before the wedding. Greeted by animals including giraffes as the went on game drivers and a walk around the lodge, made it a unforgettable experience for all our guest.
I was very relaxed especially with the beautiful venue we had. I had a nice long hot bubble bath the night before and a cup of tea and cookies with my sister in law before we went to bed. The next morning I was spoiled with all my suppliers pampering me as they got me ready for my big moment.
Our theme was rose gold, green and natural browns. We had out long tablets set up around the boma outside with white tablecloths, beige chair covers, wooden under plates and beautiful green floral runners done by developers Villiers flowers. The venue also had hanging Chinese lantern and fairy lights all around. The venue has a beautiful ambiance and there is not a lot to be done to make the venue stunning!!!
My groomed wore a beige suit from eurosuit with a white shirt, brown belt and brown shoes. His groomsmen wore black pants, black shoes white shirts and waistcoats from eurosuit. They all looked very dashing.
My bridesmaids all wore their own different dresses that suited their individual personalities. I had my sister with breathtakingly beautiful red hair, my sister in law with beautiful blond Hair and my best friend with stunning Brown hair that goes on for days! Best of all worlds!!
Our marriage officer was Ds Ewald. He was also referred to us through the venues suppliers list. He was amazing and he took so much care to get to know Johan and I as individuals. He left us with a message to take care of each other and our marriage that will forever stay with us. With promising our love for each other under a 300 year old fig tree was more than we could ever have wish for.
Cezaan from photography by Cezaan captured our beautiful wedding images. I met Cezaan and Devin and I just immediately knew their style of photography was exactly what we were looking for. We had an engagement shoot with them at Glen Africa with elephants. What an adventure. After we got our images from the engagement shoot I could not wait for them to capture our wedding day. They were so professional and made us feel so at ease infront of the camera. Our Wedding images wa so beautiful and they managed to capture our personalities and love for each other. My sister made us a suprize wedding vidio witch we will forever treasure and we can relieve our wedding day all over again wherever we want. That was the best wedding gift ever!
I planned my own wedding! But at Kuthaba we had Shannin who out did herself and went above and beyond to make us feel at ease . There was not one detail left undone on our special day. She was amazing and the day would not have been such a success with out Shannin!
Kuthaba had a game drive vehicle that fetched the bridesmaids and I to go to the tree where the ceremony was. On our way to the tree my best friend asked if she walk down the aisle what must she do with her hands. I laughed and said you hold your flowers ofcourse, and when I looked back I looked onto three shocked faces and I saw they forgot thier bouquets. The driver stoped for me and I told them to pick some of the dry grass in the field and it worked out as if we planned it that way.
Kuthaba prepared our food and the food was so tasty! Our guest are still raving about the lovely food! We very small chocolate naked Cake from Rozana at Cake it!! The cake looked so beautiful and was so tasty!!!
My sister also help to design our seating plan. Johan and I designed and send out our own e-mail invites!
Johan and I did not take dance lessons! Johan had me a bit stressed as he did not take practicing for our first dance seriously! But with our first dance on the wedding day he surprised me and our dance went perfectly and I will always remember our first dance!!! Jannie was our DJ he was so much fun and had all my guests on the dance floor till the very last minute. He also sang some of the songs himself during the evening that was so special. Our guest enjoyed themselves and we saw some moves I don't think they even knew they had!
