How did your love story begin?

Stewart Md I met at a soup kitchen my church runs. He came along with a friend and something just stirred in me when I saw him. He was a bit shy so it took a while for him to get my number from a mutual friend. But he did! We spoke all the time for a couple of months and met up for coffee at varsity. He then asked me on a date two days after my birthday, and it was perfect! Dinner, a drive to a look out point in groenkloof and a movie to end it off, where he asked me to be his girlfriend.

Tell us all about the proposal.

We went away for a long weekend to the Midlands. His excuse was his parents were going so we should join them. We stayed at Brahman Hillsa beautiful hotel. On the Saturday we decided to for a hike to a waterfall and his parents decided to go elsewhere to explore. Little did I know they were leaving to give us our special weekend. So we get to the entrance of a reserve where there are hiking trails and realised we could not get to the start of our hike become we had no 4x4. So we decided to do all the little hikes. No Matter how beautiful the end of the hike Stew did not seem satisfied. On the third attempt we reached a lone tree looking out over a gourge. Stewart then decided this would have to do and got on one knee and asked me to be his wife!

Magical Moments

The most incredible and special moment was seeing him smiling waiting for me at the alter of our church, where we first met. I have never felt such joy in my life. God was truly present throughout the mass and it showed on our giggles and endless smiles.
Having our family there from all over the world was also so special for us. All togetherto celebrate our union. Family is so important to us and it truly made it the best day ever.
Our beautiful venue went above and beyond to make everything perfect! Heating our guests laugh and enjoy themselves while Stew and I took a few moments to sit and just soak up the atmosphere and that after 6 years we are finally husband and wife.
Stewart is not an emotional person who expresses his feelings often, so when it came to his speech I was blown away. I'm a VERY emotional person so my heart melted when he shared his feelings infront of our friends and family.

The Honeymoon

We did! We had always spoken about a trip to Italy together throughout our relationship, so our honeymoon was the perfect occasion! We hired a Fiat 500 and took a road trip from Lucca in Tuscany to the Amalfi Coast!

The Venue

We had our wedding reception at the Hertford Country Hotel, beautifully rustic and romantic. Some of our guests stayed over at the hotel which was great because we could dance the night away!

My Captured Moments

We had the best photographer! Such a beautiful lady with a the most amazing soul. She made us feel so comfortable and happy and became a great friend! She Captured exactly who Stewart and I are as people and a couple.

Wedding Transport

We kept our ride simple. My Grandfather drove us in his Mercedes Benz

Food & Cake

Our menu was absolutely delicious! The Hertford Country Hotel catered for our wedding and it was honestly so amazing. Our guests were raving.
Our wedding cake was a simple 3 tear cake, with a lemon layer, a chocolate layer and a carrot cake layer (our favourite flavour).

Wedding Stationery

I am so fortunate to have a wonderfully talent friend named Claire who designed my wedding stationery for me and I had it all printed at Hartwood Printing in Midrand.
