The entire day was a highlight for me, but walking down the isle, alongside my father, towards my groom was an incredible "wow" moment. I remember very clearly that I felt calm and content and the smile on my face proves it!
Another memorable highlight was sitting down together to enjoy our first meal as husband and wife, just sharing a moment and taking it all in, when Stefan gave me a very special, unexpected gift - two rose gold rings.
Yes, we spent 5 wonderful days together in Zanzibar.
I would describe my wedding look as timeless, elegant and chic, almost old hollywood with dramatic jewel and warm, winter tones. I was fortunate enough to have exceptionally talented hair (Angelique Nel) and make-up (Chrizaan Visser) artists share my vision and they made me look and feel more beatiful than I could have imagined. https://www.facebook.com/AngeliqueMakeUpAndHair/
My wedding dress was a custom Casey-Jeanne Atelier gown with a hand embroided illusion bodice and hand beaded waist band with a fitted milk-white skirt with waterfall train. During the ceremony I wore a detachable soft tulle skirt with waterfall hem. An absolute dream come true! Especially considering I only had two fittings!
I wore a gorgeous pair of Oleg Cassini shampagne diamante wedding shoes, however, changed into nude and silver Witchery flats during the reception.
My wedding jewellery was made my Aztec Jewellers, my mom gave me some of my gran's family pearls which I used for my necklace, bracelet and bridesmaids' bracelets.
My bridesmaids and I wore lovely robes from Woolworths while getting ready.
We chose Bordeaux Game Farm in Limpopo as our wedding venue. Our families and friends are spread out across the globe, so we really wanted to create a wedding-weekend feeling. where everyone could enjoy some quality time together.
Our guests arrived on the Friday afternoon and then joined us for a pre-wedding braai and catch-up around the fire. Our venue accommodated 25 of our close family and friends. We enjoyed a bruch with our guests at the venue on the Sunday morning after the wedding before saying our bitter-sweet goodbyes.
I've always enjoyed being active and taken part in sports, so I continued running and tried sticking to light resistance training. I am lucky enough to live in a farming community so fresh produce formed a huge part of my diet. I tried cutting down on sweet treats, but that didn't quite go according to plan...
Stefan and I are both minimalists so we loved the clean, no-clutter look at Bordeaux Game Farm. Our wedding was a jewel-tone floral theme, with navy, burgundy, blush and greens. We combined the winter colours with copper and rose gold.
The talented Leriche from Nouvelle floral was an absolute treat to work with, she made time to talk to me whenever I needed and went above and beyond to realise my dream with the lush greenery runners and perfect flower combinations. Not to mention the special detail of adding orchids to my bouquet.
We hired the LED light panel, table numbers, candle holders as well as copper and glass cubes from You&Me Decor.
My handsome groom wore a suit from Woolworths, which we just had tailored, Arthur Jack shoes and a pocket square from Harvey Max. His groomsmen's suits were also from Woolworths, shoes from Aldo and pocket squares from Harvey Max.
My gorgeous bridesmaids wore the most beatiful navy, burgundy and blush floral dresses which we ordered from Asos. It worked out so well because they stocked the dress in their pettite range too, so each bridesmaid's dress fit to perfection. They each wore burgundy, navy and blush strappy heals from Superbalist and Aldo.
My uncle is a Minister and has married most of my cousins too. It was such a special experience, having my mother's brother marry us after a beauriful message and service.
Alicia Landman captured our perfect day in the most perfect way. We spent some time with her before the wedding and she also did our engagement shoot. Alicia was absolutely amazing, made us feel so comfortable and I think it shows in our photos – we just had such a blast! Fell in love all over again! Het attention to detail, ability to capture unexpected moments and make you feel completely at ease is a talent not possessed by many.
Nope, it was all me. And my mother and bridesmaids, of course! The venue's Manager also played a huge role in everything running smoothly.
My dad drove my mom and I from the Bridal Suite to the Courtyard where we were married. We rented a game viewer to transport us around the venue for photographs.
Bordeaux Game Farm prepared the delicious buffet for our wedding and we ate like royalty!
My mother-in-law, Carol-Anne Dreyer, made the most delicous wedding cake I've ever tasted, not a crumb was left over!
On of the most wonderful experiences of my life was working with Colleen van Heese from Lieflingkind Stationary to create the look and feel of my wedding. Her personal touch was there, from the Save the Date, Invitations, Name Tags, Seating Charts and Gift Boxes to the Wedding Newspapar she designd for us. Her valuable experience and imput guided me throughout the process, without compromising my initial ideas.
