Our great goal with our wedding day was that it should be a celebration of our love for each other. Our wedding day did not have any definite theme, rather we wanted to focus on elegance and simplicity. Because of our relationship being so effortless, it was only natural that we did not want to go overboard with our wedding day. It had to be a reflection of us and what we stand for. The continuous colors were white, wood and glass. We had long wooden tables covered with candles, Proteas and Orgids. The detail hung from the roof with white light bulbs and white roses extending over the length of the tables. Our venue was a game farm, Thaba Tshwene Game Lodge, in North West. Part of the entertainment area was a wooden deck that looked out on the farm's waterhole, which was beautiful. We would not want to change anything from our special day except that we would like to experience the day exactly as it was.

My dress has a special story behind it. Me and my mother went to try on dresses, where I saw my dream dress on a pamphlet at the very first bridal house. It was exactly what I was looking for. The lady at the bride's house said they unfortunately do not make the dress anymore. It was a dress from their previous collection. It left me and my mom fitting wedding dresses for the rest of the day, and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, although at the end of the day I did not lose my heart on any dress (except the one I could not have ). About two weeks later I did some online shopping on a website where brides sell their dresses that have been worn. There's my dress! The one on the pamphlet. In my size. I could not believe it. I send the lady an e-mail and she replied the dress is still available. That same weekend, me and my mother drove to Pretoria to fit the dress and bought it right there. I felt beautiful in my wedding dress. The dress had pearl detail on the bust section, the rest of the dress was stylish and simple. I had a long train that was tied to the dress during the ceremony and with the reception I took it off. Basically, I had two looks throughout the day. I also had a long veil that suited my long train. My hair was loose curls and I had pearl and diamond earrings and a matching pendant that matched the pearls on my dress. Again simple and elegant, which also adapted to the rest of our special day's theme.

It felt like all day was just one big highlight, but if I had to choose one moment, it would be when the bridal chorus started playing, the doors to the chapel opened and I saw my 'husband to be' on the other side of the aisle. It was an indescribable moment that I'll cherish forever. I could feel the excitement of all the guests and the peace and love of the Lord's presence as me and my father walked down the aisle. When my Dad handed me over to Renier, he gave me one big kiss. Everybody burst out laughing and the Pastor joked that we still had to wait a bit for that part of the ceremony. It was a very special service and a beautiful message of infinite love.
