we met in Feb 2008 through mutual friends started dating in March 2008.had a beautifull baby boy in 2015 and decided to finalise a wedding date(we have been wanting to get married since 2013 but financialy we could not) and the rest is history.
at a friends get together. he was to slow so i had to make the first move.
we just decided that our time is now.
every second of that day was memorable.the highlight for me was the way my husband smiled when he saw me for the first time that day walking towards him down the isle with my father and he never stopped smilling and complimenting me the whole day.
we did not go on honeymoon as we could not afford it but hopefully in the near future we will be able to.
i went for something comfortable for myself.i am not a makeup person so it was very light and soft and was done by my husbands cousin whom is always on point with her makeup(Pearl Aanhuizen).my dress was made for me as i was wanting something unique, something that not all brides wear.my hair was in a up style because everybody knows what i look like with curly or straight hair and i wanted my look to be unique.my jewellery was my something old,my moms pearls.
we got married there and had our reception there and they were the most amazing and hospitable group of people.
no health and fitness because i am comfortable the way i am and my husband loves me for me and not the way i look.the only treatments i had was waxing,mani and pedi wich was a gift from my most amazing parents for their and i qoute "eldest daughter and first to marry out of their home"
all of this was done and arranged by our amzing friend and also a wedding/events planner Liesl Jaftha whom did a amazing job.she knew what i wanted by me just telling her the colours and the feel i want...i left everything in her capable hands because i know everything she does is amazing.i wanted vintage & modern and thats what i got.i am not a flower person.
the suits was all organised through my dad whom works for house of monatic and they do Carducci.the waist coats was made specially for our special day.
the bridesmaids look was my decision...i loved the look of the dress when i saw it and the whole idea was that they were to look like a goddess an thats what i got with hair and all..flat sandals also for comfortability for them
the pastor whom married my parents...i have searched for him as he was not at our church anymore and when i found him he immediatly remembered me as the small girl that grew up infront of him as myself and his aughter use to play together and he was very close to my whole family(granma,grandpa,aunts and uncles).he also married 2 of my mothers siblings.
i made use of a fairly new photographer in the photography world and also to give her more oppurtunity to build herself.Robin Jea Photography.she did an amazing job for someone that is new in the buisiness and also allowed us alot as in asking us what we want or how we would like our photos instead of telling us like most photographers do.
i had the most amazing,understanding and peacefull planner/day coordinater her name is Liesl Jaftha and her companys name is Love Personified events.
my dad rented a suv at avis to cart us from the hairdresser to the venue and it was a smart KIA serento wich he drove himself.
the venue prepared the food and my cake was done by my friend Angeliqe Roy whom is not a baker but just makes good cake.
we had no stationary
we had a DJ and he is a good friend of my fathers whom he use to DJ with back in the day..DJ LEON.
