Where to start.... Our wedding day was the best day of my life. It was even better than what I dreamed of. We were very hands-on, from making the little thank you gifts to doing all the decorations the morning of the wedding.
The ceremony was the highlight for me. "During a marriage, a couple may go through tough storms together, but as long as you are anchored to God, you will overcome any storm and come out on the other side to see the beautiful view" (Pastor Phil Grabe). We tied our hands together with the bible in the middle as the symbol of tying ourselves to the anchor of our life boat.
Our honeymoon was to the Western Cape. We stayed in a beautiful room at the Lodge at Atlantic beach in Melkbosstrand for the first week. While we were there we explored Cape Town like real tourists, visiting Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, Table Mountain, Kirstenbosh Botanical Gardens, V&A Waterfront, Two Oceans aquarium and many more. We also had the opportunity to go on a sunset champagne cruise...WOW what a great experience.
The second week we stayed in a chalet at Kagga Kamma in the Cederberg region. The Cederberge was also very beautiful. Our stay here was very relaxing, giving us time to remissness over the past few months and rest before the busy year ahead.
I was going for a very natural wedding look. I wanted to look like an elegant and beautiful lady. The hair, makeup and the rest of the accessories followed the same trend... simplistic but elegant and beautiful. My dress was a soft white colour which complimented my pearl jewellery.
We got married at a beautiful property owned by one of my previous work friends. The whole wedding happened outside in the garden overlooking an extraordinary view over the West Rand. Most guests stayed until after 10 o'clock, as the venue was close enough for all our guests to travel back home.
Imagine this picture... a large cream stretch tent on a green lawn overlooking Ruimsig and Sandton. 60 white Wimbledon chairs and a big brown arch decorated with small white flowers filled the space. Fairy lights provided soft lighting for that romantic atmosphere. Big bouquets of white and pink flowers decorating the tables, with a beautiful natural garden to top it all off.
The groom wore a navy blue suite with brown shoes and belt. His accessories included a Casio edifice watch and Tungsten wedding ring with rose gold plating. The groomsmen wore cream pants with matching navy blue undercoats and mint green ties to compliment the bridesmaid dresses.
The bridesmaids wore mint green dresses with a floral lace detail at the top. The dresses was perfect for a summer wedding.
Adam Fine from AFine Photography captured all our special moments from our wedding day as well as engagement shoot. We would highly recommend him to anyone. He makes you feel comfortable and provides a variety of different shots.
Our food platters was prepared by a home chef and the wedding cake was made by my aunt.
