How did your love story begin?

We met about 10 years ago when we worked for the same company. We were just very good friends at first and we were both dating other people. Graeme was a bit younger than I am and I never thought he would even consider dating me, but there was always that little something special between us. About 6 years ago, we were both single and started going out together as friends and it was not long before the spark turned into a flame and we have been together ever since.

Tell us all about the proposal.

Graeme surprised me on 18 December 2015 with a weekend away in a little rock house up the Aurora mountains. I love it up there and it has been a special little getaway place for us in the past. He planned everything so carefully and by the time the sun set, we took a walk up the hill to watch the sun set and then he got on his one knee and asked me to marry him. I did not see it coming at all and I must have asked him about 4 times if he was sure, sure sure! He chose the ring for me which was very special and now we are getting married in December.

Magical Moments

Walking down the isle to my sister in law singing A thousand years by Christina Perry and seeing my handsome husband waiting just for me!

The Honeymoon

We packed our camping gear and got in our Hilux and discovered the Cederberg mountain area

Wedding Gallery

My Special Day

I' m a farmers wife and a real plain Jane.

I did not wear shoes, just a lace foot piece with a very elegant yet plain wedding dress.

Part of the dress is from my mother in law's old wedding dress which o found a few months ago in an ild suitcase.

My hair and make up was very natural and vintage inspired.

The Venue

Kersefontein is my husbands original family farmstead between Velddrif and Hopefield next to the Bergriver.

We slept there with our closest friends and family

My Groom And His Groomsmen

They wore tailored pants, white shirts and silver waistcoats.

They looked so dashing!

Beautiful Bridesmaids

I had a Maid of Honour and a Best Man, both barefoot as well.

My maid of honour wore a halterneck mint green long dress and Best man, short chinos and a white shirt

Marriage Officer

Johann Jooste, he is a marriage officer, Reiki master, Motivational speaker, Interior designer and Dress designer.

My Captured Moments

Lizaan Nel off course. Top Vendor winner but also a very good friend. That was the very first thing I booked when we decided on a date. She is the absolute best

The Wedding Planner

I did every little detail myself, arranged everything and organised it all on my own. My friends and family helped with some decor items, all made by hand

Wedding Transport

My friend arranged the car and drove us to the venue. I got dressed on our farm and she eapecially had a sign Kruispad Bride made for me. It was so special!

Food & Cake

Riette Strydom from Country Kitchen Caterers and the cake was a layered cake of cheeses from Fairview

Wedding Stationery

I did it myself

The Reception and Entertainment

I put together a carefully selected playlist over a period of 18 months and we never had time to practice our first dance so we just winged it! Opened the dancefloor to Something just like this by the Chainsmokers and Coldplay.
