Magical Moments

Our wedding day was everything we could ask for and more. Set in the beautiful Stellenbosch mountains, we could not have asked for a better day to celebrate our union.
A memorable moment was definitely walking down the aisle and meeting my husband to be - it was the most exciting moment for the both of us knowing that we would soon become one.
Another special moment was whilst we were getting ready - we got dressed at the same venue (in different rooms of course), when the photographer had an idea to capture a before picture with the two of us, without us actually seeing one another. He stood on the one side of a wall with myself on the other side with the only connection between the two of us being our hands touching each other's and our love for one another. This was definitely something special and different as I can still remember him telling me that as soon as he felt my hand, he knew that everything was fine and that everything would be perfect!

The Honeymoon

We haven't had the chance to go on honeymoon as yet, but are planning on going away on honeymoon during this year.

My Special Day

I went for the rustic but classic look dressed in an ivory, mermaid shaped dress that I purchased from Bridal Aisle in Milnerton, Cape Town.
My hair and make-up was done by Nicky Johnson, where she transformed me into the beautiful classic looking bride that I had wished for - with my make-up being kept natural with a slight pop of colour and my hair being pinned slightly higher than the usual low bun.
My shoes were a champagne coloured heel, with a slight shimmer complimenting my classic look.
Jewellery and accessories were kept to a minimal as my dress did not allow a necklace to be worn. I thus wore dainty silver earrings and a silver bracelet to finish off the "less is more" look.

The Venue

We got married at Neethlingshof Wine Estate situated in the beautiful Stellenbosch.
The ceremony as well as the reception took place at the same venue which was an absolutely stunning venue for a summer wedding.

Wedding Elements

As described above, we went for the rustic but classic theme/ look for the wedding.
To realize this look we opted for the naked and rustic rectangular shaped tables containing a beautiful flower arrangement comprising various summer flowers for the centre pieces.

The tables and table decor were hired from To-Nett's Flowers Decor & Hiring in Paarl.
Tiffany chairs finished off the classic look which was provided by the venue.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The groom looked absolutely handsome in his grey 3 piece suit, crisp white shirt and bright spring green coloured tie.
His groomsmen wore only the grey pants, white shirts and the spring green bow ties in order to create some variation between them all.

These were all purchased from Markhams.

All of the men wore red boutonnieres just to give it a pop of colour.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids looked absolutely gorgeous in their long, light and bright spring green dresses.
All of them had a differently styled top complimenting each of their body types.
We also included some lace detail with a slight bling for some attitude!

These were all handmade by a very talented dress maker called Maria.

Marriage Officer

So my husband and I did things a bit differently - we had a different marriage officer and a different person actually performing the wedding ceremony.
We wanted someone who knew us on a personal level to perform the wedding ceremony in order to connect with us on a personal level when performing this sacred ceremony and thus we chose a very close family friend to do this - Mr. Freek Lott who is also a member of the church I belong to.
Our marriage officer performed all legal requirements and goes by the name of Mr. Dames.

My Captured Moments

We had an absolutely talented photographer - Jessica 'E Silva. She knew how to capture each and every moment of our special day.
She has patience, skill and an eye for detail - she definitely knows what she is doing and what her job entails.
She ensures that she captures each and every special moment and really takes pride in her work.

She did a wonderful job with each and every picture encompassing all aspects of our special day.

Food & Cake

The delicious food was prepared by the venue as they are a restaurant and thus the food was out of this world - people literally couldn't get enough.

Our wedding cake was a black 3-tiered cake with each tier being a different flavour:
1. Red velvet
2. Rainbow
3. Chocolate
The cake was decorated with colourful edible flowers, each one being hand made to the finest detail.
This was created by the very talented Carmen's Creations.

The Reception and Entertainment

After all formalities were complete, we enjoyed a lovely party with the band and DJ entertaining the guests and keeping us all dancing until the night was complete.
The sound and lighting were done by the DJ himself.

DJ: Tony Paulse
Band: Sammy Webber, Lesley-Rae Webber and Tony Paulse
