Magical Moments

How does one even begin to choose a few highlights of an absolutely perfect day... Our wedding was celebrated at Florence Guest Farm and Wedding venue in Chrissiesmeer, the venue captured the balance between rustic and elegance so well.
My memorable moments started with the build-up towards the wedding with our guests flying in from abroad, followed by getting ready with my bridesmaids, mother and mother in-law. My most memorable moment was walking down the isle and seeing the look on my husband's face, and finally being announce as Mr & Mrs Coetzee.

The Honeymoon

Yes we went on a honeymoon with a twist. Our honeymoon was actually a "buddymoon", as we shared our two weeks in Livigno Italy with very dear friends of ours in the the Snowy Alps, we enjoyed moments of laughter while learning to ski.
Our "buddymoon" started of with a big surprise as my mother managed to get us upgrade to Business class, it was an absolute treat!

My Special Day

My wedding look for our wedding was focused om me being true to myself, I wanted to look the best I possibly could with out too much drama. My dress was my dream dress, I fell in-love with a dress on a picture and my mother had it made and oh my, it was PERFECT!!

My jewellery was my something new and something old, I wore a pearl bracelet that was made from my late grandmothers pearl necklace, and beautiful pearl earring that my mother in-law had specially made for our wedding day.

My shoes had to scream comfort as I was refusing to have painful feet ruin my wedding day, I wore Zelly peep toe wedge shoes.

My hair and make-up was done without any trails, and it was definitely worth the risk.

The Venue

We got married in a German inspired Chapel located between tall tries overlooking a beautiful lake in a small town called Chrissiesmeer in Mpumalanga, at Florence Guest Farm and Wedding Venue. The venue enabled us to accommodate most of our friends and family, and the rest of our dear guests stayed in Chrissiesmeer at different bed and breakfast guesthouses. Our venue's accommodation varied from glamping in the most beautiful set up tents to chalets and a man cave for the groom and groomsmen.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

To be honest there was not really time for beauty regimes before the wedding, more like trying to recover from final year exams. I only had two weeks before the wedding to get focused on our big day, I did not want to waste time stressing about the small things, I just ensured that I got enough sleep and drank water.

Myself, my husband and our bridal party were all spoiled with back, neck and shoulder massages followed by relaxing in a wellness pool with champagne, this lead to a relaxed environment an enabled us to enjoy every moment.

Wedding Elements

I would describe our wedding decor as rustic, simple and elegant. All colours at the wedding was natural, with greens and white Christmas roses and lilies.

Our ambiance was created by candles and romantic chandeliers, our guests lit sparklers while we had our wedding dance, which made it just magical!

My Groom And His Groomsmen

My husband wore well tailored navy pants, a white shirt and a sand coloured suit jacket with a navy tie.. He looked absolutely HANDSOME! His groomsmen wore navy well tailored pants, white shirts with nay bow ties. And of course my husbands favourite part, they wore BATMAN socks!

I had an absolute blast shopping with these men, we completely took over the fitting rooms in Woolworths and was this a hit for all the staff. We bought most of their outfits at Woolworths with the exception of their belts and shoes which we bought at Old Khaki.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids looks absolutely stunning, they wore a champagne coloured long dresses with a v shape neckline complemented with a lace bust and soft Chiffon paired with nude Zelly peep toe wedge shoes.

I went into YDE and saw these dresses and immediately knew that this would be perfect, the bridesmaid dresses were bought in less that hours, that's a record time I would say!

Marriage Officer

Our marriage officer was Pastor Johan Janse van Rensburg, he conducted our marriage. He surprised us with a first dance in the magical chapel and even some brownies and wine!

My Captured Moments

Our wedding was captured by Dust and Dream Photography, Elaine and Steph ensured that we were comfortable at all times. They really made our wedding day extra special by removing all the awkwardness and stress around our photos. Our wedding pictures left us breathless and will be forever grateful that we will be able to treasure our memories forever.

The Wedding Planner

Mmmm, no I did not have a wedding planner. Myself and my husband planned our wedding, we did however have an awesome in-house coordinator at the venue that arranged for most of the wedding set up. We only had to add the last finishing touches

Wedding Transport

This is probably the only part of our wedding that did not go exactly as planned, as the wedding car that we booked for the wedding was in an accident an hour before the wedding we had NO wedding car!! Any brides nightmare, but a very good family friend was so kind as to borrow us his car! It was in a way a saving grace as it was one of the hottest days in Chrissiesmeer and I was sooo grateful for the air-con on our way to the Chapel.

Food & Cake

Our food was prepared by the kitchen staff at Chrissiesmeer Guest Farm and Wedding Venue, our wedding cake was done by a local baker from Ermelo.

Wedding Stationery

We did not have stationery made, we had a wedding website and we created some printable stationery.

The Reception and Entertainment

We danced the night away!!! My husband and I did not have the typical wedding dance, we did not take any dance lessons and we dance like no one was watching as we would dance in the kitchen, our wedding song was a golden oldie "hooked on a feeling" our favourite song from Guardians of the Galaxy.
We had a very talented young man from Florence playing the piano at our canapes and a DJ did our music and lighting.
