My favourite part of our wedding day was walking down the (long, tree-lined) aisle toward my husband to be! The whole day felt like a dream and literally nothing went wrong. My husband and I really wanted the presence of the Lord at our wedding and He was definitely present. We had a very special first dance (a waltz) with which we opened the dance floor and it was very touching how our guests afterwards told us that they could really see the love between us while we were dancing. I planned a special surprise for my bouquet throw: instead of throwing the bouquet, I cut the ribbon and handed each single lady their own flower as a symbolic blessing from the bride. This was a very special moment for all of us.
We had a wonderful local honeymoon, travelling to Kleinmond (Villa Chad Guest House), Aurora (Mountain Mist), Montagu (The Vineyard Country House), Wellington (Dunstone) and Tulbagh (Vindoux Guest Farm and Spa). All of these locations were amazing in their own right, but The Vineyard Country House in Montagu stood out as the highlight! We stayed in the most beautiful room, the service was incredible, the breakfast delicious and the hospitality left us wanting to stay.
I wanted a very elegant, yet simple look. Not too glamorous. My hair was done by the amazing team from The Cottage in Durbanville (www.thecottagehair.co.za), my nails, lash extensions and tan was done by Gem Beauty in Aurora, Durbanville (http://gembeauty.co.za/) and my wedding dress was lovingly made by Didi from Didi Couture (http://didicouture.co.za/). Nicky Lonte (www.nikiprofessional.co.za) did my makeup and I absolutely loved it! I received my lingerie as a gift from my wonderful bridesmaids (from Woolworths) and my accessories were from Lovisa. I had a delft blue wedding decor vibe in mind and I wanted my shoes to fit in the picture and I found the perfect pair at Edgar's from the brand "Dune".

We got married at Nooitgedacht Estate in Stellenbosch. It was a privilege to get married under the trees on a beautiful Stellenbosch summer's afternoon, yet we got to spend the night with guests in the grand hall that the venue has to offer. My husband and I stayed over in Nooitgedacht's beautiful and spacious bridal suite and a few of our close family members stayed over in the other guest rooms on the premises. We were treated with a mouth watering breakfast the next day as well!

I mostly continued with my normal routine and tried to get enough exercise and to eat healthily. I decided not to splurge on spa treatments, but my bridesmaids treated me to a home spa treatment in the week before the wedding! However, a few weeks before the wedding I went for a trial wax and a trial tan, just to check if I want to do it for the wedding.
My dream colour scheme for the wedding was shades of blue, greenery, rose gold and white. I wanted lots of romantic lighting and lots of blue and white. I showed my inspirations to the amazing team at Joli Creations and Designs (https://www.joli.co.za/) and they did more than make my dream wedding look come true! They did all of the décor and the flowers and it was just perfect!
The groom wore a blue suit tailor made by The Tux Tailor in Stellenbosch. His tie matched my blue delft shoes and was from Romens. The groomsmen wore simple chinos and white shirts.
My bridesmaids wore the most elegant watercolour floral printed high low dresses from Forever New. They could each pick their own shoes to wear - it was a mix of white, nude, grey and cream footwear.
Our marriage officer was our pastor, Sias le Roux, from the Shofar church in Stellenbosch.
Coba Uys from Coba photography (www.cobaphotography.co.za) was our photographer and she did an absolutely amazing job. She is such a calm and loving person and she really made everything flow smoothly. I love her style - she is so good at capturing authentic moments! Karina from Salt Video Productions ( https://www.saltvideoproductions.com/) was our videographer and she is excellent at what she does!
Nooitgedacht did all of the catering for the wedding day and the food was delicious! A friend of mine, Lezandi Fourie, from the company Baby Cakes, made our wedding cake.
Being an artist myself, I designed all the wedding stationary.
Our music was done by Ben Malherbe from Dynasty. My husband had taken part in a ballroom dancing competition some years back and he just taught the waltz to me a few days before the wedding. In spite of only having a few days of practice, the dance was truly perfect!
