Walking down the aisle was the happiest, yet most nervous and scared day of my life. With all these emotions and my mom and brother by my side we walked down the aisle and when I looked up I saw my soul mate and my best friend and all the fears and nervousness disappeared.
For the first time in 5 years I saw him crying and at that very moment I couldn't wait to say I do and to spend the rest of my life with my husband.
I got the best advice from a friend and later that night while all the guests were enjoying themselves we took a moment and went outside to just take everything in and to spend a few minutes alone, it was only at that moment that we both realised we are now husband and wife. The most indescribable moment ever.
That made all the planning, all the long nights of deciding who sits where, making up gifts and all the little arguments worthwhile.
We spend 4 magical days in Singapore and 9 days in Bali. It was the best time of our life's.
We wanted to go for the rustic, vintage look for the venue, but still wanted the elegant wedding dress, hair and makeup. We brought in rose gold to the décor and to complement that I had rose gold shoes and jewellery.
We got married at Venue Nouveau, the most beautiful venue.
Some guests did stay the night. The venue have their own guest house Kamma Frans.
We were fortunate to have the venue do all the décor and flowers.
We had succulent, gips and roses in bottles covered with hessian standing on a wooden beam. We had hessian runners with rose gold under plates and beige serviettes. Each guest name was on the plate in laser cut wood. We also had laser cut table numbers and menus on the tables.
The groom and groomsmen had stone colour suites on from Euro Suit, with hessian bowties.
I only had my sister as my maid of honour. We grew up together and she is my best friend and she knows me the best. She had a elegant champagne colour dress on with a lace like pattern that almost matched the lace pattern on my dress.
Dudley Mans and what an amazing message he gave us.
Herman Mostert was our photographer. He made us feel so comfortable and captured all the special moments on our day.
The venue did the food. We wanted people to enjoy the food and go back for seconds so we did an old but favourite spit braai. Our guests went back for seconds and thirds....
Our wedding cake was made by Maryke from Oh' so Deliciousness and it was so delicious:)
The reception was such great fun. We did not go for dance lessons, but had a few long nights at home practicing our dancing skills.
Our DJ was Liam Walsh from Pulse DJ. He played something for everyone, from young to old and had every single guest on the dance floor. He even took requests from guests later the night.
