From the first day I saw him, I knew that this would be something special!!!
In May of 2008 we met at a rugby game and 10 years later writing this piece I can honestly say I know that God made us for each other.
Our wedding day was everything that we dreamed of, a day of perfection, a day of grace, a day of hope, a day of laughter, a day .of true emotions and a day which we could enjoy with all our closest love ones.
We went with a rustic, romantic, urban feel as theme and feel for our beautiful day with soft blush, dusty blue and earthy colors. The flowers were one of my favorites of the day with succulants, eucalyptus leaves, king proteas and a touch of thistle (my all time favorite of all the flowers) and which gave that romantic but rustic feel all way throug
Our venue, The Stone Cellar, was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! The structures, beautiful fields, whispering trees and grass and spectacular sunsets were just some of the ticks that made us choose this breathtaking place.
I could go on for a few hous about how great our big day was, and I am sure each bride feels the same way, but each wedding day, each bride, each groom SHOULD feel this way about each detail of their day.
Our journey only began 18 November 2017 and I am so excited for that the future holds for Mr and Mrs Strydom.

THE WHOLE DAY!!!!!!!
Firstly, I was told that we would go to a dam for honeymoon, which I was totally fine with, with one condition... He would HAVE to buy me a golden swan to float on the dam :)
My Sister and Best Friend packed my whole honemoon bag (with a few newly bought outfits that my husband bought) so I did not know of anything. The morning after the wedding we got in the car on our way to the “dam” (I still had NO clue where we would go) and we arrived at the airport.
He then handed me my passport and a paper that said : “ WELCOME TO KOH SAMUI” ... We were on our way to a small island off the coast of Bankok!!!!!! What more could a girl ever ask for?
My dress was a ivory, semi mermaid/ trumpet number by Kobus Dippenaar, Anna Georgina. Beautiful lace bodice with a plunging v-neck, which came with long sleeves but I wanted straps.
Hair and Make-up I wanted to fit in with our feel of the day, romantic but still rustic. Bronzy, blushy, rose goldy colors and beautiful curls with a rough braid across my head.
Rosegold and diamond acessories was the perfect choice to finish off my look! I decided on navy blue heels as my something blue and it matched my husband’s suit.
We got married in Heidelberg at the breathtaking Stone Cellar Wedding Venue.
From Friday we were busy setting up and getting ready with a lot of help from the venue. They were amazing! Friday evening we all sat around a cozy fire and enjoyed each others company.
Most family and friends stayed over the evening of the wedding as well in the farm house and also in the rooms around the farm house, which was great!
I try to be overall healthy so my fitness and eating program did not change a lot.
I made sure I keep my skin clean, healthy and fresh with facials, treatments and organic skin care products.
I also used a teeth whitening kit wich worked very well.
We did our own décor and flowers, with the help of my super talented aunt who does decor and flowers for many functions, weddings etc.
I wanted flowers that looks rustic but still romantic and soft so we did a mix of eucalyptus, succulants, king proteas and small fillers in between. We made awesome “swings” that hanged from the roof of the reception area which gave it a extra romantic look!!
The venue has vintage wooden tables and chairs which we loved and that we thought will look perfect with our theme.
We love soft lighting so we hanged lots of faerie lights in the trees and around the venue for that extra small details.
My husband desided that he wanted to have a slight different color from his groomsmen. He had a Royal blue suit from the mens taylor at Metro and they hired navy blue suits from Euro suit.
My bridesmaids looked absolutely amazing!!!!
We made high waisted tulle skirts at Gelique in dusty blue hues that we wanted to match with our color scheme with off shoulder, white body suits. Rosegold heels from Cotton on topped off the perfect bridesmaid look.
Before my husband and I got serious, I went to my youth leader at church and talked about this great boy I met. I was unsure as this would have been my first serious relationship!! She told me that if I do not try, I will never know if he could be the one... Needless to say, 9 years after we asked her to marry us! She was after all the person who was there from the very start :)
Him and Her Pictures was our photographers. They are THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS... Just look at these pictures!!
Bravo and Thatcher was our videographer. Funky, different and SUPER awesome people... You will not go wrong with them!
