The two most memorable moments are
1. during our traditional wedding when my uncle and all the women who were negotiating my lobola came to fetch me and usher me to the celebration.
2. when, during our white wedding , I entered with my dad into the church , my husband waiting for me.
No, we did not go on honeymoon
Our wedding theme was a classical romance, it was an evening wedding of 250 guests. I had 6 bridesmaids and groomsmen. My makeup together with my bridesmaid was done by makeup artist Kea, hair was styled by "Sbu".
I had 2 wedding dresses, a Cinderella first dress and a mermaid dress, both dressed by MX Creations, all accessories and lingerie were bought by my mother and godmother. My shoe was a comfort shoe, nude in colour from Solo.
Our wedding venue was the magnificent Mount Usambara and for accommodation we booked at Usambara Lodge which is the sister venue.
We did not have any of the bridal beauty regime however our family of most importance concentrated on us finding a lot of spiritual support and prayer and fasting. That is the preparation one went into. However the rest of the health fitness was more healthy eating.
As indicated earlier our bridal theme was classical romantic, with black and grey and a touch of pink décor. the venue provided the simple setting and only a touch of small white and pink posies and pink side lights to add to the ambiance. the stage was a table for 2 and a coach and a table with the wedding cake.
The Groom was dressed by Fops Tailors in Fordsburg, the suits were tailor made. The groom wore a grey three piece suit and a two piece double breasted suit to change with the bride when I change to my mermaid dress.
the groomsmen on the other hand were dressed by Exclusive Men's Clothing, from suit to shirt to socks and lapels.
We established a WhatsApp group where all the bridesmaids and our mothers discussed the dresses for the wedding. I was given the opportunity to decide on the colour of the day. my initial colour was guava and when my two mothers started looking for table coordinates and other things to go with the colour theme, they decided to change it as it was a problem to find fabrics that would match for the groomsmen. they then opted for sweetpink as the colour theme.
in the WhatsApp group the ladies posted different patterns and discussions where held as to whether the pattern would suit the different body types. the pattern eventually agreed on was as per consensus of all the 6 bridesmaids. then MX Designers then made the dresses
We were married by our spiritual father prophet Charles he conducted a moving matrimonial service
Our memorable day was captured by Busang photography. he did a sterling job
My wedding was run and personally coordinated by my Godmother and my mother. but my godmother ran with everything until the last moment as my mother had to take up her mother-of-the-bride role . from the very beginning of the traditional wedding to the final moment of being assured to my in-law's family. She did a sterling job indeed.
the whole bridal party used BMW X5s from family members.
We served a traditional buffet served by the venue we hired, a plated starter and main cause was buffet. 2 vegetables pumpkin and spinach, 2 salads potato salad and green salad, two types of meat, chicken and beef stew, a dn 2 starches.
we had a feast with dessert as we were served 4 types of desserts, coffee and tea was also available
our wedding cake was specially made by Terry which was a 5 tier cake with different flavours, lemon, chocolate, blue and red velvet and strawberry cream
We had a blast with DJ Small T, he started with a music lineup of gospel mix a the matrimony, especially that I am married to a pastor. then we played a lot of traditional wedding songs where people could stand up and dance. the entrance dance of the bridal party was very lively and exciting and formed the whole attraction of the day.
