Magical Moments

My wedding day was magical and everything I dreamed off.
Some of my highlights from this day are :
- When i walk down the aisle and i see my fiance gaze is glued on me , best feeling in the world ever.
- October was a very rainy month in Durban and it was a relief that the rain cleared up for the wedding day.
- The hall was so beautiful with the Orange and Gold colours.
- Seeing our guests - this was so special because almost 400 people turned up to spend this special day with us.
- Even the peacocks from the temple decided to shower us with their blessings - in Hindu culture this is considered very lucky.
- Food was delicious
- Smiles on peoples faces and seeing everyone after a long time. Weddings really brighten any day.

My Special Day

Wedding Outfit (Rosewood Boutique - Phoenix Durban)
I wore an indian wedding outfit called a Lengha. This consisted of a Skirt , Blouse and Veil which was Champagne Gold and Burgundy with clear swarovski stones.

Hair , Makeup and Accessories
I was dressed by professional makeup artist Reena Hanuman of Makeupnthings Durban.
My hair was set in an upstyle which was then covered with my burgundy veil.
A 3 way stonework headpiece was worn of my head.
My makeup was chosen to look as natural as possible with red lipstick and smoky eyes this was successful.
The area around my eyebrows were decorated with burgundy stick on dots (bindi) which complimented my outfit.

My jewellery consisted of a burgundy and gold choker , another longer chain reaching my chest , hand chains and earrings.
I also wore an indian wedding chain known as a Mungal Sutra which is made up of gold with black stones and which was put around my neck by my husband during the ceremony.
My wedding ring is a white gold diamond tripset.

The outfit and jewellery together weighed a lot and I therefore chose to wear a comfortable pair of Gold Glitter wedge sandals.

My hands and feet were decorated with henna (mendhi) two nights before the wedding at my mendhi ceremony by Narusha Govender of Bridal Mendhi by Narusha.

The indian tradition is that the intensity of a bride's mehendi is determined by the groom's affection for her. The redder the mehendi, the deeper his love for her.

My hands and feet nails were done by Prenisha Perumal of Jireh Beauty Box and i opted for a burgundy gel paint with some bling stones.

The Venue

I was married at the Umgeni Road Temple in Central Durban,

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I indulged in some lovely treatments at Spa D Sulis in Umhlanga a few weeks before the wedding.
I use Isabella Garcia products and this has really helped keep my skin looking so good.

Wedding Elements

My Stage Decor consisted of 3 Giant Size Statues of the Indian Deity Lord Ganesha.
My theme colour was Orange , White and Gold with the tables being laid out with this colours.
Each guest received a white pillow box style sweet box and an organza bag that was filled with lavender seeds as wedding souvenoirs.
The hall was fully draped in white curtains and fairy lights hung from the ceiling.
The scene was set with a full colour wash over the entire hall and stage.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

My husband was dressed in the traditional indian wedding suit which is known as a Sherwani from Mr Executive (Verulam).
It complimented my outfit as it was also Champagne Gold and Burgundy.
He wore a burgundy turban and shoes to complete the look.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

All ladies in my bridal retinue wore sarees and lenghas that were bright and bold colours.
