The 2020 wedding season calls for pops of colour, lush arrangements and a somewhat minimalist modern finish. From bold colour palettes to modern flower arrangements we had it all. Dané Verwey Florals together with Bianca, the beauty and brains behind Event Architect created the most swoon worthy floral creations to suit all budgets. From lush dried foliage, to statement Antheriums, the girls truly showed off with their amazing skills.

The first look played around with our favourite lust have finish, velvet! With a statement emerald couch, lots of textures, fruit and more this look was equally playful as it was stylish! We loved the pops of mustard which truly brought out the wow factor. Accents of gold were beautifully complimented with pops of black, mustard, pink and white! The perfect sweet heart table inspiration for your summer wedding celebration.

The second look was for the true romantic at heart and focused on a more traditional bridal look with a twist. The stylish combination of blush, black, gold and white was taken to a whole new level with the expert creative eyes on board. A lush and non structured floral arrangement complete with shades of white and pops of deep Burgundy added the ultimate wow factor to this look. Complete with modern black and gold cutlery, stylish rimmed underplates and blush candles, we simply couldn’t get enough. Fleur Design Studio completed the look with a modern stationery suite that was as pretty as a picture! This ultra romantic look was completed with the most incredible two toned velvet ottoman with a chic tassel finish that added the ultimate glam factor to this dreamy reception look.

The third look truly added the wow factor and we would love to see more brides and grooms-to-be try this chic wedding look. The budget friendly and oh-so-cool bridal look is truly stylish and statement all in one. Dried and dyed Hydrangeas were carefully arranged in a modern wooden block that added the ultimate cool factor to this reception look. The rich autumnal tones were beautifully accented with gold and shades of off white. Nude candles and plinths added height and soft ambient lighting to this modern tablescape. We especially love the statues provided by Myuzu which added the pièce de résistance to this modern reception look! We don’t know about you, but this look screams summer and it gets a firm YES in our books!

The final table scape truly tied the entire look together and adds the ultimate statement factor to your reception look. If you are a bridal couple that wants to add a little drama to your wedding look, this tablescape is for you. The perfect combination between modern and romantic, this look was simply dreamy. Modern underplates and cutlery were complimented with coupé glasses from Hire Haus and adorned with a pink napkin from The Tablecloth Hiring Company. Event Architect created the most beautiful floral installation using single stemmed Antheriums in varied heights. In its simplicity, this floral look spoke volumes and needless to say we love it. If you are opting for a banquet style reception, this look is for you! It works beautifully with plates and dishes in varied heights. Did somebody say photographers paradise?

Food Fanatics & The Homestead, in the heart of Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs was the ideal location for our styled shoot. Greeted by an incredibly well-maintained garden beaming with fresh fruits, veg, seasonal blooms and of course the warm and friendly team behind it all, we couldn’t have asked for more! This hidden gem is one to look out for – it’s equipped with the most beautiful décor elements and a catering team who is at the top of their game. Have a peek at the incredible spread and refreshing drinks they prepared for our shoot!

Of course, none of this would’ve been possible without someone who has an eye for capturing the most exquisite detail. A master of his craft, Riaan West Photography captured our entire shoot so well and we couldn’t have chosen anyone better!
