When planning a shoot, we normally focus on a central idea and weave all the elements around that one concept. With Lemon Fresh we wanted to showcase as many of the leading trends as we could within one theme and our inspiration was from Pantone's latest colour release….”
PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating, two independent colours that highlight how different elements come together to support one another, best express the mood for Pantone Colour of the Year 2021.” Our amazing team of suppliers wanted to highlight and showcase (in a fabulous way of course) how all the different trends could come together to support one another and create something truly beautiful! Fear not love birds, yellow can be an overwhelming colour to consider but we think in many ways it works so well and adds a decadent pop of brightness that truly steals the show.

Wedding florals and decor really have the power to take your wedding look and feel to the next level, and these gorgeous creations from Lol's Flowers are giving us all the feels. Lorraine Hirst from Lol's shares her thinking below:
"As a florist I use any mood board as a jump off point for my creativity. With Lemon Fresh, the brief was open for me to interpret as I saw best. The main idea being to create a tablescape incorporating the Pantone colour of the year, grey and yellow. Yellow is a truly underrated colour in the wedding world but one of my favourites. It’s a happy colour and it makes me happy when I am using it.
I wanted the emphasis to be on the silver leaf colour and use yellow as a highlighting tone instead of a bold statement colour. I also wanted the yellow to be a real lemon yellow rather than a strong buttery yellow which can sometimes be overpowering. Paired with a chic grey tablecloth and charcoal cutlery and plates, this look is modern and stylish. With on trend styling, the tablescape allows the florals to be appreciated in all of their glory. Yellow napkins tied in a contemporary way brought a modern edge to this fabulous tablescape. Hanging flowers are always fun to do but I did not want them to be a heavy block. The venues beautiful chandeliers worked perfectly for the florals and added a stunning luxe feel to the installation; which in turn created a picture perfect backdrop for the smoky Edison bulbs
and magnificent tablescape".
It is no secret that the girls at SA Weddings HQ are obsessed with beautifully designed wedding stationery. Not only is it the perfect keepsake from a magical celebration but it really does add the wow factor to your reception look. Hayley from Invitation Café shares the design details behind her stunning stationery items.
"I love unusual briefs and mixing different textures, shapes, and colours. Immediately with the grey I wanted to showcase the modern industrial concrete look mixed with brush metal to tie in with the naked bulb in the décor. The lemon-yellow colour completely changed what would have been a very hard look to a softer more elegant look. I created the yellow circles with the eyelet to grab attention and a bit of quirkiness".
Cake cake and more cake is the mantra in the SA Weddings office. We are obsessed with these gorgeous edible creations from the talented, Cake Duchess .
The creative team share their thinking behind the sweet treats.
"I think Covid has played a role in many wedding decisions going forward and we wanted to showcase a Covid conscious wedding cake option in the form of mini-individual cakes, (did somebody say wedding trend). Cakes and confectionery are where brides can be adventurous with colour and these perfect little pops of lemon fresh yellow accented the overall look and feel of this shoot.
Jaqui the beauty, brains and creative force behind Lily & Wild Photography created a set of images that was a perfect balance between a styled shoot and a real wedding which gave the overall shoot an authenticity a bride could relate to.
We are just so in love with these gorgeous snaps and the incredible team of service providers that brought the concept to life. Yellow and grey certainly is our latest favourite colour scheme! With all of this swoon-worthy wedding inspiration, we cannot wait to see what you'll do!
