Let's take a look at Jurie and Lize-marié's real wedding feature.
It started in 2015 when we both went on a church camp as facilitators. It’s interesting how it all worked out. Lize-marié comes from Komatipoort and on their way to Pretoria they had a flat tire. She did not want to attend the camp as she knew no one that signed up as facilitators. After fixing the flat tire and arriving just in time her mom said “Who knows, you’ll maybe meet your husband on the camp”.
Not quite sure if I’m aloud to say this but I proposed on top of the Telkom tower. Family of ours own a cinematography company and it was asked of Lize-marié to comment on all the landmarks in Pretoria starting with the Telkom tower. A short clip of our proposal is in the music video of “Die Avontuur - DouVoorDag”.
The planning process from my side (Jurie) was easy seeing that Lize-marié is an organizing queen. She used lots of Pinterest ideas as well as Nova wedding planners.

Classic, clean and modern. We got married in Nelspruit in the middle of winter and the venue at Kavinga allowed us to create our dream wedding.
From a small age I always wanted to wear a long-sleeved dress for my wedding. The classic, clean and modern theme along with the winter season made my dream come true. The bridesmaid dresses was designed to fit all the different body shapes while fitting in to my wedding dress theme.
Clean and simplistic look. The main flowers we used was Tulips and white King Proteas blended with greenery. We wanted to keep the colours to a minimum and that’s why we used the Tulips and Proteas. The décor we used was open wooden tables with golden crockery and golden table pieces.
Yes, we made the Tulip stands from Moroccan tiles and golden struts. We also built a wooden arch for the ceremony.
“Always remember us this way – Lady Gaga”. The words of the song resonated with us both.

Yes, we went to Mauritius to an adult only resort specially equipped for honeymooners. The resort we went to is Veranda Paul et Virginie.
