Dylan and Kaitlynd

Dylan and Kaitlynd tied the knot in Mozambique. Find out more about their love story below...

How did your love story begin?

En-route to Oppikoppi, one of South Africa's biggest music festivals. We had a connection from the moment we met!

Tell us about the proposal...

It happened on a romantic getaway in Dullstroom, on one of the trout fishing estates in the forest after a relaxing spa day.

How did you find the planning process?

We found it pretty stressful as we planned a destination wedding in Mozambique. helped us find the right suppliers and gave us great details which helped us plan our wedding.

Where did you draw your planning inspiration from?

Mostly Pinterest, wedding magazines and of course

What was the most memorable and special part of your wedding day?

The first dance was very emotional, most of our guest were crying which made us cry, so that was by far the best part.

What was your wedding theme and why did you choose it?

We had a beach theme as the ceremony was on the beach.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding dress as well as the bridesmaids' dresses?

I just fell in love with my dress the moment I tried it on. It was not at all what I thought I wanted. My bridesmaids dresses were infinity dresses, but we chose an unusual colour that would make them stand out against the blue ocean.

Your decor and flowers. Do you have a specific reason why you chose what you did?

We chose light, soft colours as we had the beach and the oceans and we did not want to take anything away from the beautiful location.

Did you incorporate any DIY items?

Yes, we did a lot of DIY items! From the table numbers, marquee letters, wedding favours to name a few.

What song did you choose for your opening dance and why?

Enrique Iglesias - Hero. We both love the song and it has been our song from the start.

What is your favourite, will-never-forget memory of your big day?

Definitely our first dance!

Any advice for other brides-to-be / grooms-to-be who are busy planning their big day?

Just keep it simple and if anything goes wrong, just wing it. The day goes by so fast, every now and then take a step back, relax and try to take everything in.

Did you go on honeymoon and if so, where did you go?

Not yet, we're planning on going to Zanzibar in January 2019
