When Mosaic Lagoon Lodge approached the #SAWCY girls (otherwise known as the SA Weddings Team) for a stay at their luxury lodge, we were elated. After what has been a tumultuous year for the wedding industry, the much needed R&R was certainly welcome! Keep on reading to find out more about our amazing stay.
Mosaic Lagoon Lodge is a true slice of heaven. Recently taken over by the incredible Maryke De Villiers, this five-star private getaway, lives up to its stellar reputation. Inviting the outside in, you are able to experience the full glory of this beautiful Conservation Area outside of Stanford, South Africa. Not only is Mosaic Lagoon Lodge perfect for a memorable honeymoon, it also serves as the perfect wedding venue for a show-stopping intimate wedding celebration. Small certainly does not need to be boring lovebirds - Mosaic provides the perfect canvas to tie the knot in style! Surrounded by the lagoon, majestic mountain views, pristine Walker Bay Beach and ancient Milkwood groves - the photo opportunities are absolutely endless. As part of your stay, guests are able to indulge in a wide variety of activities in and around the property. We had geared up for this in great anticipation and it certainly did not disappoint. After a very warm welcome and tour of our room, we were ready for the much loved Fynbos quad bike trip around the farm. Our guide was kind and courteous and made sure that all Covid-19 safety checks were in place. With our helmets on, we were ready to rock and roll. The beauty surrounding you certainly adds to the magic this activity promises. We were able to rough it out through different terrains and parts of the farm. An abundance of bird life and natural flora and fauna surrounds you - a more perfect slice of heaven could not be found. Our guide was absolutely incredible and showcased his in-depth knowledge of the natural surroundings. Our trip ended with a much needed cool down refreshment with one of the best views we have ever had the pleasure of seeing.
Our second activity was none other than a serene morning kayak! An absolute must do, the sights, sounds and surrounds amaze you with every paddle. The peace and quiet is certainly a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the city. On your kayak you will find, “calm waters, beautiful sunsets, and mountain ranges” a killer combo to start your day! If you’re ready to dine like royalty, Mosaic Lagoon Lodge certainly does not disappoint. Whether you dine indoor or outdoor, the scenery is the perfect addition to an already impressive meal. Each meal is carefully curated into an holistic experience for every diner. We enjoyed a moreish three course dinner with excellent service and delicious complimentary wines. With the warm roar of the fire only a stone’s throw away, the cold winter’s evening was soon forgotten. With the bar set high for breakfast, it certainly did not disappoint! What a fabulous foodie experience.
