Our wedding day, 2 August 2025, was everything we ever dreamed of — a celebration overflowing with emotion, joy, and the undeniable presence of God. Set at the breathtaking Duck Point Venue, the golden winter sun shimmered across the river, creating a peaceful and romantic atmosphere that perfectly reflected our love — bright, modern, and deeply meaningful.
As Kobus walked into the church, the gentle sound of his late father’s piano music filled the air, surrounding everyone with a sense of peace and presence — as if his father was right there with us, smiling from above. Then, as I made my way down the aisle, my veil trailed behind me with the words “God het jou vir my gekies” beautifully embroidered across it. Guests looked down in awe, many with tears in their eyes, while Kobus stood at the front with tears streaming down his face. Before the ceremony, we had shared our personal vows in private — a quiet, sacred moment that made the rest of the day even more special.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed mouthwatering canapés, lawn games, and laughter along the riverside while we captured our photos as husband and wife for the first time. The evening that followed was pure magic — filled with amazing food that our guests still talk about nearly three months later, and a celebration that truly never stopped. Our MC, who also played the saxophone, kept everyone entertained, laughing, and on their feet from start to finish.
From our romantic first dance to the unforgettable party that followed — with glowing glasses, light beams, a 360° photobooth, and non-stop music and laughter — the dancefloor stayed full the entire night, with every single guest joining in the celebration. It was everything we had hoped for and more — a day filled with love, family, faith, and the presence of those we hold dear, both on earth and in heaven. it was the perfect blend of elegance, romance, and modern glamour. My hair is styled in soft, cascading waves that frame my face beautifully, with a delicate hairpiece adorned with pearls and crystals tucked to one side, adding a subtle sparkle and sophistication.
My makeup done by FDK Styling was soft and romantic, emphasizing natural beauty with glowing skin, defined eyes, and a gentle, neutral lip color that complements my overall look perfectly.
My Vonvè wedding dress is a stunning dream dress and was a combination of lace and flowing fabric. The bodice features intricate lace detailing with a deep neckline, adding both elegance and a hint of allure. The skirt that was a separate part and could be removed, flows gracefully to the ground and it had pockets, creating a classic and timeless silhouette. The dress includes a lace train that adds movement and drama as I walk.
My bouquet is vibrant and bold, featuring a mix of deep red roses, hot pink lilies, and delicate pink blooms, providing a striking contrast to the softness of my gown and adding a joyful pop of color.
My jewelry is minimal yet striking, with statement earrings that frame my face and a sparkling engagement ring and wedding band that glimmers with every movement. The overall look was sophisticated, romantic, and perfectly suited to my serene and joyful bridal presence.
We got married at the stunning Duck Point Venue in Sasolburg, set right on the tranquil banks of the Vaal River. To make the most of this special time, we — along with some of our closest family and friends — stayed at the venue from Friday through to Sunday. It was a full weekend of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories
Hair: I coloured my hair every six weeks, with the final colour done two weeks before the wedding to ensure it looked fresh and vibrant. Regular hair treatments kept it healthy and glossy and I had Mayne hair extentions done for the day
Tanning: I had five Tancan sessions for a natural, sun-kissed glow.
Health & Fitness: We focused on a healthy diet and consistent workouts, which helped shed a few kilograms and feel our best.
Skincare & Spa: I maintained my usual skincare routine and hair treatments, keeping my skin radiant and healthy without drastic changes.
Décor Style:
Our wedding embraced a bold and romantic color palette featuring rich pinks, reds, and deep purples, contrasted with black accents and natural wood tones. The overall aesthetic was modern luxe with a touch of drama, brought to life through striking floral arrangements, tall taper candles, moody lighting, and elegant custom touches.

Every second table was styled identically, with natural wooden tables paired with neutral-toned, studded upholstered chairs. The tables featured a black gauze runner, dramatic black and pink taper candles in clear glass and matte black holders, and bold floral arrangements in shades of fuchsia, crimson, and blush. Each place setting had a bright pink knotted napkin and black flatware, creating a vivid, cohesive look.
Lighting:
Warm string lights were strung across the ceiling, adding a soft, romantic glow to the entire venue. A custom LED light with our surname was featured behind our table, adding a personalized focal point to the space.
Seating Chart:
We created a unique seating chart display using individual champagne bottles arranged alphabetically by guests' initials. Each bottle was labeled with the guest's name.

Our floral design was done in a rich, moody palette featuring roses, carnations, anthuriums, chrysanthemums, snapdragons, and peonies. Florals were incorporated into every key area—from the guest tables to the entrance and cake display.
Flower Installations:
A statement floral arrangement hung above our cake, which was displayed in the middle of the dance floor for maximum impact.
Flower pillars stood on either side of the LED surname sign behind our sweetheart table, creating a lush and romantic backdrop.
Additional florals adorned the base of the champagne bottle seating chart.

A variety of candles were used throughout the venue—tall taper candles and industrial candle sticks on tables and candles on the floor—enhancing the mood with soft, flickering light and an intimate feel.

he groom and groomsmen looked incredibly sharp in modern, tailored suits that perfectly matched our wedding’s bold and elegant theme. The groom stood out in a stunning Viridian green suit paired with a classic waistcoat and a rustic brown tie, a look that was both timeless and full of character. The groomsmen and our dads wore striking acid blue suits, each styled with floral ties and coordinated brown leather belts and shoes, creating a cohesive yet vibrant look.
We were thrilled to find all of these stylish outfits at The Suit Studio in Hartenbos, where we were able to hire everything at a very affordable price without compromising on quality or style.
My bridesmaids all wore elegant pink Lena Lisa dresses, each featuring the same flowing skirt design but with uniquely styled bodices to suit their individual personalities
Our incredible photos were captured by RDK Photography — we absolutely adore Renske and the magic she creates behind the lens! Every shot is filled with emotion and elegance, and she made us feel completely at ease throughout the day. Our breathtaking wedding video was created by Le Vogue Productions, and we couldn’t have asked for a better videographer — not only is she incredibly talented, but also such a fun, vibrant person to work with.
We also had a 360 video booth from U Do Photos in Sasolburg, which was a total hit! It added an extra layer of fun to the evening, and their service was both affordable and unforgettable. They truly helped turn the night into a core memory for all our guests.

The food was absolutely incredible — our guests still rave about it to this day! Every dish was prepared with care and creativity by the venue’s talented in-house chef, Shaun Bosch, and it truly elevated the entire experience. From starters to dessert, the flavours were unforgettable.
Our beautiful wedding cake was crafted by The Big Day Cake, and it was just as delicious as it was stunning. The design perfectly matched our theme, and it became a real showstopper during the reception.
We had the absolute pleasure of having a live saxophone player who also served as our MC, and he was nothing short of amazing. Not only did he keep our guests entertained throughout the day with his incredible talent, but he also ensured everything flowed seamlessly and stayed on schedule. His energy and presence truly elevated the entire celebration.
Our DJ was fantastic—super professional, fun, and completely in tune with our guests. We had a unique touch where our guests could fill in requests for songs they'd like to hear, and the DJ made sure to play every single one, which created an incredibly personalized and lively atmosphere on the dance floor.
The “dancing on the clouds” effect, complete with low fog and beautifully done lighting, made our first dance feel magical. Every aspect of the sound and lighting setup was handled with professionalism and attention to detail, and we couldn't be happier with how it all turned out.
