Elizabeth Anne Smith & Darron Mallett

Married on Jun 3, 2023 in Garden Route

Magical Moments

Every part of our wedding was a highlight!
For me it was seeing my future husband who is usually an introvert climb out of his shell, and be the most wonderful host walking around with pride and love!.
We chose a themed wedding, with a Medieval Fantasy theme. We did not expect almost everyone to actually dress up, and everyone enjoyed every moment.
We play DnD and my husband loves Lord of the Rings and Vikings, so I wanted to incorporate all of that into the wedding.

It was really a fairytale! 6 months later, and my husband still regularly brags to anyone he meets about our amazing wedding, and shows everyone the photos.

We chose to do a handbinding ceremony which was so beautiful.

Best of all, we did the whole wedding on a very small budget, had the most amazing harvest table and beautiful DIY decor. In our case, it takes a village to plan a wedding! We would not have been able to have our fairytale wedding without the help of all of our close friends and family.

My Special Day

Our theme was Medieval Fantasy.
My look was very fairy princess.

My dress was cream and gold, with lace accents. with long off the shoulder chiffon sleeves.

My hair was half up, and I wore a gold and opal circlet.
My boots were customised for the weeding.
I wore a hunters green chiffon cape edged with velvet as my veil.

A friend made us all customized capes, and a lot of the other items were thrifted.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

I went for a brow wax and tint, and a dermaplaning facial at Hadasah Beuty.

Wedding Elements

Very plain, we did black tablecloths, with plum overplays. Tables covered in ivy and gold sprayed dried hydrangeas. with wooden discs and random bottles with candles.
there was champaigne coloured organza draping, and chandeliers made from greenery with fairy lights.

All of this was done by friends and family

My Groom And His Groomsmen

My groom wore a black shirt, black chinos, and black combat boots.
Over that he wore a knee length alternative jacket, a customised black suede cape, and silverfox fur
All other accesories were either thrifted or handmade by me.
The groomsmen rented their outfits from the Blind cat, and had customised capes.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

My bridesmaid thrifted their dresses, and were customised by a friend, as well as having customised capes made for them.
Hair and makeup was done by thmselves

Our legal marriage was done by Father Amos.

The handbinding ceremony was done by a dear friend

My Captured Moments

Christil Casey Photography did a private shoot for us after the ceremony.

Food & Cake

Frankly Fresh Catering did the harvest table, including a pork spit, chicken leg quarters, and hearty vegetable soup.

My dear friend and my niece made the wedding cake and desert items. (Date balls and chocolate chip cookies)

The wedding cake was spectacularly different, and quickly devoured! It was a no bake cake filled with nuts, cherries, shortbread, turkish delight and other delicious things enrobed in chocolate ganache.
