Yes! Japan baby!
We have both always had such an appreciation for all things Japanese and it was the initial conversation starter when we started talking on Hinge. So it only seemed fitting that we would honeymoon in one of our favourite countries.
We planned the wedding date around when we would want to honeymoon in Japan and October is the beginning of Autumn so we knew we were in for a scenic treat with all the orange and red leaves!
We were also in Japan for Halloween which was an exciting experience.
We hopped on the plane 2 days after our wedding day and enjoyed 2 weeks exploring the country.
We adventured to 4 different cities via the bullet train. Two of which were Tokyo and Osaka.
We truly feel we experienced everything we wanted to from the fast paced environment of Shibuya crossing in Tokyo, to the peaceful temples and streets of Takayama.
Our honeymoon was truly one for the books and we cannot wait for more adventures together.
I cannot tell you how crazy my pintrest board was for bridal inspiration!
I knew I wanted my hair up and in a bun as I didn't want my hair to cover any facial reactions on the day.
Marnel did a fabulous job of keeping the hair classy with a few whimsical pieces. She also did a wonderful job of shaping my bushy eyebrows and found the perfect eyeshadows to compliment my eyes.

I was scouting for elegant flats as I wanted to be comfortable throughout the entire day and they had the most stunning flats with a blue inner sole which became my something blue!
My wedding dress, oh wow, this was a long and hard process of trying on so many dresses again and again.
Lots of places had classy dresses but the fabric was too heavy and I like movement. I wanted to run and twirl with ease in my dress. Blanco Bridal had my dream dress! The fabric was like air and the additional sleeves made me feel like I was truly on cloud 9.
Being a part of your celebration in some small way makes my work so much more rewarding.
We got married at La Paris Estate.
Our Bedeken took place in the rose garden , Ceremony under the Arbour and our Reception in the grand Lyceum hall.
Our bridal party were the only guests staying with us the night before and night of the wedding.
Which was incredibly special as we knew majority of them were not locals, so the more time together the better!
Our accommodation was incredible, as each room felt like its own private villa and the tall hedges really made the walk to the accommodations feel like a fairytale, especially at night.
Vein by Wynand Lourens was the dress designer for my bridesmaids.
We had a meeting and went through the looks together and mutually agreed that everyone should have the same skirt but different options for tops. I wanted my bridesmaids to feel comfortable and look fabulous, so having tailored made dresses for them was a must.
Wynand was brilliant is every sense of the word. He met with all my bridesmaids near and far, measured, did mock ups and alterations so that everyone truly had their own personalised experience with their own dresses.
I also wanted to gift my bridesmaids these dresses as every woman deserves to have a dress in their cupboard that they can wear again and again because they know is made for them and makes them feel good.
I knew I wanted their dresses to be matte black and breathable because I did take into consideration that they would be in their dresses the entire day. I also knew from a photography point of view, you cannot go wrong with black. It is classy, flattering on everyone and makes the bride standout.
I think it also helped that my main flowers for the wedding were white anemones which have a black centre. This floral aspect just tied the entire look with the bridesmaids together so nicely.
When we all stood together we all felt gorgeous and we were all glowing.
Rudy Nadler-Nir was our marriage officer.
He specialises in interfaith marriages which was extremely important to Adrian and I as we did not want our ceremony to be focused around religion. We wanted our ceremony to be about our union and love as two individuals who are starting a new chapter in their lives.
Rudy did an excellent job on the day and his narrative was so beautiful which made our ceremony all the more special. Our meetings with him in the lead up to our wedding day were also a great opportunity for us to get to know each other and run through our ceremony timeline.
The registering process after the ceremony was super easy with him and he made sure our marriage certificates were delivered to us after we got back from honeymoon.
When it came to planning our wedding, the most frequently asked question was not what does your dress look like but rather, “Well who on earth is going to film YOUR wedding?”.
I am surprised that most people thought I would honestly have the time and patience to edit my own wedding and to be honest. Nobody could have a filmed our wedding, more perfectly than Gustav Franke.
We share the same value for video as it creates such nostalgia watching and reliving your day, especially moments that as a bride and groom you will miss. Also his quality of work is beautiful and professionalism on the day was amazing. His service was worth every penny because I rewatch my wedding films ALL THE TIME!
When it came to photography, Duane and I have been fortunate enough to have worked weddings together as a photo and video team many times, so without a doubt I was so excited to book him for our wedding day.
He has such a calming presence and knows how to guide couples when it comes to composing his shots.
He is always at the right place, at the right time and not to mention I just love his photography style!

A few things which stood out on the day were Monique and Kaylyn coordinating my dress reveals, Tracy making sure guests had water before ceremony, Monique grabbing my bridal bag from my room with all my items that I forgot, Kaylyn helping me change into my after party dress...the list truly can go on. Yes you have friends who can assist with those things but to be honest guests are just having a good time. So to have a team that can run around and just help you when needed is honestly the biggest stress reliever!
If people think they don't need a wedding planner for their day, I can with confidence and tell you, that after working with the Trunk Team, you 100% do.

Our food was all in house made by La Paris Estate chefs.
The canapés, main course and dessert were all incredibly tasty throughout and the tasting process itself was incredibly fun.
Our two tiered wedding cake was made by Sweet Lion Heart and it was DELICIOUS!
All of our guests came running up to us during the evening to say that they have never had such delicious wedding cake at a wedding before. You cannot go wrong with Sweet Lion Heart, especially their chocolate and caramel cake.
Casey was our incredible designer.
She really helped with the finer details of our day when it came to stationery.
It are the small personal touches that make a wedding and ours included: white wax seal stamps with our initials with our guests name tags and menus for seating as well as very cool coasters for the top of guest drinks saying "Please don't take my drink, i'm dancing!" We also had beautiful signage and seating charts as well as personalised his and hers drinks for the bar, which were beautifully drawn.

Catherine was our entertainment, lighting and sound coordinator for the day and she did an excellent job at making sure all sound cues were met as well as communicating to us beforehand, when it came to song choices and dance floor lighting.
We also included a low blowing smoke machine for our first dance, so we truly felt like we were in the clouds.
We did in fact take dance lessons with the extremely patient and talented John Hamman.
His ballroom skills really helped us keep things simple and classy for our first dance as husband and wife.
The rest of the night was in the hands of DJ Cosher, who kept everyone on the dance floor dancing for hours!
We received so many compliments about his choice of music on the night and were so happy everyone partied into the early hours of the morning.
