Magical Moments

I woke up in the morning in disbelief that our big day had finally arrived. It wasn't until I was putting on my dress all dolled up did it actually hit me that "I am marrying my soulmate". I had spent most of the morning laughing and listening to music with my girls so once I found myself in the back of the car on the way to the venue all I wanted to do was stick my head out the sun roof to show everyone that I AM GETTING MARRIED. I thought I would be nervous when I walked down the aisle but once I saw a full lawn of all our family and friends I was overwhelmed that all these people have come for us because they love and support us. My dad had a firm grip around my arm and supported my shakes as I saw my now husband smiling and keeping eye contact with me, it was like a movie scene.
The sun rays shone through directly onto us as I walked up to him. My favourite part of our ceremony was that he answered YES before the pastor had completed his sentence of taking me as his wife. The night was perfect, overflowed with laughs, dancing, happiness and gratitude.

The Honeymoon

We were blessed as our family spoiled us with a gift away to The Shark Bay Hotel in Langebaan. The Hotel was an absolute dream. It was so peaceful and scenic it really offered us the opportunity to relax and spend quality time with one another.

My Special Day

I am in love with classic looks, after months of searching we found my Classic Satin wedding dress from Calegra Boutique in Cape Town. For my Jewellery I used one piece of jewellery from each generation of women in our family. I am a Pearl lover and wore Pearl Earrings from my mother, a pearl bracelet from my one grandmother and a pearl ring from my other grandmother. In a way the sentiment offered me so much courage and happiness. My hair was done by Donel Snyman from 5 Star Hair & Beauty who perfected my up do princess look. My make-up was soft eye shadow and a nude lip, this was also perfected by Elaine Lintz my make-up Guru! We ordered my shoes from Shein!

The Venue

We got married at La Pineta, Forest 44 in Stellenbosch. The Venue out did itself. It was so beautiful and we were gifted with one of the best sunsets. We ended up staying at Cultivar Guest Lodge the day before and after the wedding.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

Ah! to be honest I overloaded my body with water and vitamins. Fitness was a small workout I did daily, not just to fit into my dress but to contain my excitement and stress.

Wedding Elements

We really wanted a warm, classic and creative venue. Our tables had glass under plates with gold rims, burgundy and red rose patterned napkins, burgundy runners and gold cutlery. Our flowers consisted of Ivory Roses, Baby's-Breathe and Gerbera Daisies. We put tons of candle on the tables which were held by glass candle sticks and glass holders all to really highlight the warmth of each table. We had the traditional main table with our parents, behind our table we reused our arch with its flowers and a fairy light curtain. The venue offered lights that shone into the ceiling and we chose burgundy and pink and blue alternating which highlighted the entire room an its aroma.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The gents all looked handsome in their all black suits. They wore Burgundy ties to sync with the bridesmaids and overall colour of the wedding. They hired their suits from Suit Hire in Bellville.

Beautiful Bridesmaids

The bridesmaids dazzled in long Burgundy Satin dresses with a cowl top, we all sat and brainstormed and we felt it was the most flattering look and each bridesmaid felt the most comfortable in it. We hired a lovely retired lady to make the dresses.

Marriage Officer

Our marriage officer was Johan from Fairest Cape Weddings. He was an absolute Gem! His sense of humour and natural sense of calmness made our ceremony the most amazing and magical experience we could have asked for.

My Captured Moments

Jesse Maree was our photographer. He captured each and every moment we wanted and also the random and unexpected pictures which we loved.

The Wedding Planner

I wish I could put down my mother-in-law as a company but sadly not. She literally helped me with every second of the planning from beginning to even after the wedding. We would not have had even half the confidence without her.

Food & Cake

The food was mouth watering and prepared by the La Pineta Restaurant. Our Starters were Prawns or Beef Carpaccio. Mains were Hake or Sirloin. The presentation and flavour was of 5 star rating. My beautiful wedding cake was made by my loving step mother. Her cake shop is called Sugar-n-Ice. She hand made the cake and drove 1400 kilometers with the cake to get it to me in Cape Town. We had a 3 Tier French Vanilla and Bar One cake.

Wedding Stationery

We had a designer from Postnet, Tygervalley. Amazing service and art.

The Reception and Entertainment

Our DJ was one of a kind! He nailed each and every song he played, his timing and reading of the room was amazing! He played overtime and made us dance all night. Dance lessons, sadly not. My husband and I are known for our goofy moves and we seek the moment and enjoy living in it.
