Magical Moments

Seeing my husband all teary eyed while I walked down the isle. With so much excitement at the same time, seeing him for the first time in 3 weeks. Link to our wedding video -> https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1645131822494465&id=100009929886152

The Honeymoon

First stop was at Patatsfontein Stay in Montagu, in a luxurious wood caben tent, with a hot stone outdoor bath and outdoor shower in the middle of nowhere and beautiful views. Experiencing midnight rain storm with candle lights rose petals and bubbles.
Second stop and most of the honeymoon was a trip to knysna, with the most beautiful sight seeing views and amazing food. From eating at the waterfront, thesen island and at our homestay at Abalone Lodges. A lovely jacuzzi all day and couples massage to a sunset cruise on a yacht with sparkling wine and divine snacks part of our honeymoon package. Unfortunetly our yacht cruise was cancelled due to weather conditions, but we enjoyed every moment of our lovely honeymoon.

My Special Day

I love a vintage look and to feel like a princess, so for my wedding dress I had a massive bow with big pearls and a classy touch to the front of my dress. A tight fitted dress conveying every beauty feature with a long train following my footsteps into my forever after wedding. It took a while to find the perfect dress which I found on Shein, and had adjustments made with sleeves and to add on the look. My hair I did in a classic princess ballet bun which I did myself with a finish touch of flower pearl pins. The make up artist, Moray Visser, made me look perfect for my big day! My shoes I chose from spoilt girls, which had full bling, because every girl needs a little sparkle! My mother got me fresh water pearls jewelery, which I love and gives a vintage feel. I felt like a real princess!

The Venue

We got married in a church in Citrusdal, the town of citrus bloom! Capturing every moment while enjoying cupcakes and laughter after the ceremony. Thereafter, close family and a few friends joined us at the afterparty/ reception at Goudkop Bush Camp which is a wild life farm in the sandveld with golden sunsets and open fields of fynbos and wild animals. All guests stayed overnight in Goudkop's chalets and luxurious tents.

My Bridal Beauty Regime

My lovely maid of honor is a beautician, owner of Polly Anne Mobile Salon and made sure I am not tensed up by spoiling me with a massage and wine! My sister in law and I enjoyed all week with facials and lots of beauty sleep. Eating a lot to comfort the nerves, but not too much to spoil my figure. Lots of laughter and no phone helped with every moment before the wedding.

Wedding Elements

I did my own planning of the entire wedding, keeping it simple and fairytale like. Bringing out our love for who we are and where we come from. Honey farmed from our family in the platteland put into little jars with grandmother's cuttoff material as a home gift to all guests. Greenery, white and earthy colours was the theme we went for. With the help of my mother and bridesmaids we made everything perfect. My husband's cousin did the flower arrangements, Landi Venter. And my husband's best friend blessed us with white king proteas and pennygum for the wedding from Boezmanszicht. Fairylights and ivy gave a vintage look and fairytale feel. The napkins on the table folded into bows to compliment the bow on my dress and bow tie my husband wore. Our outdoor dancefloor overlooking the golden sandveld and fynbos with beautiful mountains was a breathtaking view.

My Groom And His Groomsmen

The men went with the classic farmer look, for they are all farmers. A brown chino, vellies (leather shoes) and a white button collar shirt. A pennygum bouttonier for finishing touches attached with a pearl pin. Full of smiles and a glass of whiskey, they finished up and was ready to rock and roll!

Beautiful Bridesmaids

Keeping the farm look, wearing light brown dresses from Shein, and beautiful lace giving a vintage touch, my bridesmaids looked beautiful! They each got earings as a gift with pearls which they wore with their dresses and each carrying a beautiful protea walking down the isle.

Marriage Officer

Our Paster was, Martin Steyn, a down to earth man with a great sense of humor, keeping everyone entertained and my husband making jokes in between with him during our ceremony.

My Captured Moments

One of my high school class friends, Zana Vorster, her boyfriend and sister took our photos and video. Their photography brand is Orange Magic Media. Having them capturing every moment of our beautiful day was such a blessing. Everyone knew everyone.

The Wedding Planner

My mother used to do weddings at her restuarant Soverby Lapa, before it burnt down. I learned a lot from her and I planned my own wedding with my mother's help, we made my dream little wedding a perfect day.

Wedding Transport

We all had our own transport following each other on a little roadtrip between the church and after party!

Food & Cake

My lovely mother dear is a chef and owns her own restuarant in Elands Bay, Wit Mossel Pot. She araanged the foods and a farm boy from Goudkop did a spit lamb for the guests. My mother prepared a kings feast starting with a bread table, following with fresh crayfish. Thereafter followed the main, which was spit lamb, roasted seasonal vegetables and homemade potatoe bake. The desserts I put together myself, which were little white boxes filled with our childhood memory sweets. My mother in law help covering the cake with fondant and I decorated the cake and did the finishing touches.

Wedding Stationery

My mother and I did everything ourselfs, from handwritten names to designing on cards. Everything was perfect.

The Reception and Entertainment

My husband and I love to dance, for those that know people from the platteland, they love to dance! Our favourite part of a party is to dance, from a waltz, to a sokkie, old age dance moves and throwing out our jazz hands! Our DJ and his wife are from Paarl and also stayed over at the venue, keeping the vibe going day and night.
